It seems as if our opinion on the matter is wrong and irrelevant, because higher up says so. We are not allowed to have an opinion that goes against the approved narrative. Why does all this sound seem familiar? |

I can understand both sides here. However, the fact is that it's difficult to have any in-depth discussion about any new gun-related product without getting very close to the arbitrary/subjective line that this site requires for signing up for an Industry Partner account. Naturally, a discussion on a new product that a lot of people are interested in will include discussions about price, how to get it, etc, even if it isn't coming from the inventor or maker of the product. In the thread being discussed here, at what point was the line actually crossed, and by whom? If the inventor of the product hadn't been in the thread at all, would the outcome have been the same? It's difficult to adhere to rules when they are subjective... |

| Delete...... Having personally shot 2 different FliteLite uppers that were both fiddly to get to run at all and then would only run partial belts. I never considered a belt fed AR15 upper until the Lima 6 came along and solved the issue of reliably stripping rounds from the links. It's very sad an innovative engineer who solved the issues with current belt fed offerings is treated this way, but it's not surprising as the Lima 6 will likely put FlightLite out of business. |

I don't think any member is going to be alright with gutting new content in the tech forums. Its rare we even get content anymore. Little here and there and folks are gracious enough with their time to help answer questions but it is undeniably slow. I already have to include a lot more sites when searching for info than I once did. I even have to go to the red alien place if I want to find info. Again, this is extremely disappointing. |

This place has really gone downhill in many ways over the 20+ years I’ve been active here. The KAC forum was the first big insult. This is adding to it. I hope the mods can course correct, because this forum is about the last remaining good firearm forum amongst a sea of stupid bullshit social media. |

I think paying members should be allowed to have some transparency on the site. A little more in depth reasoning and what the review process looks like. I get companies pay to advertise, but people also pay for memberships so they should have a say as well. An official ARFCOM warning on the thread should be issued and the thread be out back up with the caveat that if selling happens again, it will be nuked. |

Now, if you are an investor in the site, you should get that - but paying an optional membership fee doesn't give you any more rights into seeing how the site is run than buying an Amazon Prime membership gives you any more visibility into how Amazon is run, or having a Costco membership gives you more 'transparency' or 'say' in how Costco manages their stores. Yeah, I don't get how paying $24 a year entitles someone to being informed about management decisions. This is NOT a member-owned business. |

I don't expect to get a say other than my membership fee. I'm sure the site doesn't run off my membership but it is the only vote I got. Disappointing to see but it happens. |

The discovery that the thread is gone is quite disappointing to me. I checked it nearly daily, and it reminded me that there is more to this site than just GD. It even inspired me to start planning a build of my own- one that would be the largest gun project in years after getting rather stagnate with my shooting hobby. Development and collaborative technical problem solving is the peak use of a digital platform such as this. From my very first AR build in 2012, to the suppressor revolution, to night vision, and even to can launchers, the knowledge and insights gleaned from this community have been immensely helpful to myself and certainly to others. It’s also great fun to watch a group of passionate volunteers work through problems together, and to watch innovations materialize in real time. This is the type of community that I’d like to see fostered here, and I think many members share similar sentiments. |

I posted in the other thead, but wanted to close the loop here too: I received a very nice email from the higher-ups at Arfcom, and we are attempting to work things out. I have to give them credit for reversing their decision and reinstating the thread. So many people these days will just double down when they make a misstep; and its a sign of good character when people are willing to correct course. I'm obviously thrilled to have this thread back! But to avoid losing it again, lets make sure not to post links to my site, discuss pricing, or anything like that. We should be good if we keep it to technical discussions only. WE'RE BACK BABY! |
