its a 28c prefix, its in decent shape...been shot suppressed a decent amount it appears needs charge handle cover,has the steel insert in the lower, folding stock, not extendable they are asking 1600 is this a rifle thats GTG? can i use my ak mags in it? are they long term durable? |

| Check on parts availability and repair by SIG. I suspect it’s going to hard to find parts and repairs will be expensive , if available. From what I remember the rubber charging handle was riveted on so not easy to replace. I would pass at that price. |
| Sig USA abandoned the 556 & 556R. Parts and service are literally not available from them. Some parts will interchange with Swiss 55X guns, but others won't. A 553R is a better made firearm for sure (I have one), but they're expensive and currently banned from export to the U.S. because the Swiss government thinks that not shipping firearms to U.S. consumers will make them appear neutral to the Iranian Islamists who would kill them in a second regardless. I think that price is a definite no if you're looking at it as a go to rifle. If you're looking at it as a different platform that you just want to have in your collection, I still think the price is spot on. Two recent sales on GunBroker were $1,725 and $1,599 plus shipping plus tax plus 1% fee. Yes, it will take AK magazines. |

^ This I have a 556R that has well over 12k rounds through it. Broke three extractors. I can't locate another. SMH. Great rifle otherwise. I'd stay FAR away from it. |
