I'm considering going with a AP5-N for a pcc and parting with my CMMG banshee which has been a frt/kabuto host. I do have it set up with amphibian/c3junkies ARS, but not the fixed ejector upper. What says you internet? Stick to the banshee or gamble with a mp5 clone ? |

I'm having so much fun tuning the FE Banshee using magnets and Eddy currents with NO 'traditional buffer'. The picture below is a single N52 magnet inside a 3D printed 'puck' that is sticking to the back of my lightened carrier. Below that is a 25lb wave spring that sits between the magnet and the carrier but is positioned below since it is hard to get the magnet to behave when taking pictures. The 25lb wave spring is sandwiched by two spacers I made that prevent the spring from going solid height. The purpose of the 25lb spring is to stop carrier bounce for FA / FRT / SS use where the mass of the magnet is double duty handling that as well as the magnetic breaking from the Eddy currents. I also have a long spacer I made at the end of the spring to prevent the key from hitting the lower. MP5's can't shoot this slow....and if you like the 850RPM range of the MP5, it is easy to make the Banshee shoot at that rate as well. Extremely tune-able. |
