| Anybody have any hands on experience with the new(er) model? There's not much chatter online about it. Looking to piggyback, or add as a 3rd sighting system for scanning/detection purposes. |

i've been playing with one for a couple of weeks and it's a nice little mini thermal. the 60hz refresh rate would be hard to outrun and it's got a nice sensor in it that provides a good picture. i haven't been keeping track of battery run times but i would guess i'm getting 3 or 4 hours a battery. i have been playing alot with the settings and color palette's so that's probably using more battery than normal being a reflex type sight it really shines in quicker close in type stuff. your eye is seeing a pretty tiny unmagnified screen generally at arms length , it's harder to pick up smaller things or background items than looking through a traditional thermal that usually has a magnified eyepiece looking at a screen only a few inches away from your eye here's a few pics to show the image it produces , these were taken with a phone so it was hard to get a good focus sometimes about 61 yards to the front door , mid afternoon  pretty much same pic at night  bird on a fence at 15 to 20 yards at 1x zoom  |
