My favotire lightweight 10.5" gun has been wearing a YHM T3 for a few years now. It's been fine, but I'd like to upgrade to something reduced backpressure. My problem is the weight of newer cans. The T3 with Griffin taper mount only weighs 11.65oz and full auto rated. Does anything out there even come close? Rhino X and Rhodie 6k are a couple oz's heavier, but everything out there looks to weight several ounces more. I don't want titanium. Suggestions? |

Im in a similar situation as OP. I plan on moving my Gen 1 TurboK over to an RDB from my 11.5" BCM so now I need a replacement. I can walk right into a PSA 5 miles from my house and buy and walk out the door with a T3 (and its tempting) but I feel I should be more patient and order something better. But the weight of some of these new cans is a turnoff considering im so use to the 8.7oz TurboK. |

I have a Rhino X on a 11.5 Geissele SD and a T3 on a lightweight 11.5. I have an Infinity 556k i am thinking for for my 14.5 SD. The Rhino X works great on it on the 11.5. When I put the Infinity 556k on the lightweight 11.5 in place if the T3, it changed the balance on it and so put the T3 back on the lightweight which is tuned already with a BRT EZTune and Bootleg BCG. The Infinity 556k will most likely go on the 14.5. I have a lightweight 16" i am finishing out and thinking another Rhino X or a Rhodie 6k. A Rhodie J might be nice. Part of me thinks the Rhino S would be nice for the lighter weight, but i am not big on Titanium cans. |

IMO, the Rhino X and the Infinity 556k both sound better and noticeably so. I love the low back pressure, the tone, the compactness, and the sound suppression from them over the T3. The main thing going for the T3 is the lighter weight. I use Plan B on them all. Someone at the range tried mine and noticed the differences as well, particularly the much lower gas to the face. |

It amazes me that barely anyone on here talks about the Irregular Design's Hesychia 556 UK can. The little thing sounds great! I have a Rhino X also but to me the sound of the Hesy is way better and balances better too. The Hesy has noticeably lower back pressure than the Rhino. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess your 10.5" barrel has a large gas port. My .02 would be to get a BRT gas tube for that rifle. I have an original hub mount Turbo K and a Turbo 3. The K is on a Crane spec 10.3" and runs awesome. It feels and shoots like a MK18 with a RC2. The T3 is on a DD 11.5" with a BRT .057" tube and that is a silky smooth rifle. Though it will only run reliably suppressed. If I slapped these cans on a .078" port rifle, they would suck to shoot. Food for thought. |

Why not attack the gas of your current setup? I have a T3 on my 11.5 carbine gas and one on my 12.5 midlength gas. The midlength is super smooth and pretty quiet with a .060" reduced gas port gasblock. The carbine gas has a .050" reduced port gasblock and is still more gassing than the 12.5." I tune them to standard buffers and springs and have an H1 in the 12.5. The carbine gas has an H1 but thinking of going to an H2 as it is it still more recoil and gas than the midlength system even with the reduced gasport. They are suppressed 100%. The T3 is a great sounding can with a nice deep thump for report. |
