Anyone mess with a Japan made Winchester 92 44 mag? Just picked one up. Going to add a tang sight. Need to know if I can tap the lower tang to fit a new rear tang sight screw or is the Japan metric one bigger? Already pulled out the safety. Internet search shows some replacing the hammer to make the half cock work. Looks like a rework of the sear and hammer could accomplish the same thing. The trigger block seems like it should come out. Internet search doesn't show anything about the trigger block. Any help would be appreciated. |
