Which frame?  I assume a stock frame.

Yeah, stock frame. I've been using the hip belt from a CFP 90 roped on with 100 damn yards of 550.

It's sloppy.

It will make a huge difference with comfort.  I know the MOLLE 2 ones are significant improvements, and that should be pretty similar.

Well, it does work with a tiny mod which locks it in place. Best $5 gear purchase ever.
