I know this is a tech forum, but no manufacturer on this planet would make such a niche item for an extremely limited market. If they did, they would probably have to charge more than you would currently pay for a complete SPAS 12 just to break even with their manufacturing and R&D costs. Look at the guys wanting accurate (semi) StG-44's ....... lots of big talk until they hit the shelves at 5K plus |

Well, I don’t know about “everyone in the world” but the lion’s share of the civilian gun market is in the US. For that market, there were only 1,850 SPAS-12’s ever imported for all variants (fixed and folding stocks) before the 1994 ban and then Franchi discontinuing production in 2000. The market just isn’t there, and for the price to make one, you’d end up spending more than the cost of buying a folding stock when they show up on Gunbroker. It’s along the same lines as why Brownells didn’t make a 1:1 copy of the AR-180. They said for the cost they would have to sell them, you could buy a legit one cheaper. It is not as simple as taking a few measurements with a tape measure and calipers, then churn out the parts for pennies on the dollar. Reverse engineering something is not simple. You really need the TDP, and even when you have that, it is still very difficult to start making new ones. Stamping dies for sheet metal parts, and molds for plastic parts are not cheap. We are talking 6 digit price tags. Plus if you do not get it EXACTLY perfectly clone correct, you will have people bitch like crazy and want returns and refunds. A new perfect clone correct one of these stocks would cost double or maybe quadruple the cost of the actual gun. Not to mention like said above, the market is extremely limited. I advise you do go to the bank, secure 1mil loan, put these into production, then sell about 5 of them for a couple grand and then lose the remaining money. That said, the same stock also fits the SAS-12 (pump action only SPAS) and LAW-12 (semi auto only SPAS). Simply unbolt the fixed stock from the grip, and bolt on the folder. The grips even have the detent for the folder already there. But even if I could get new folding stocks for them, I would not. The fixed stock is way more comfortable.
