After much waiting around, with the ability to SBR anything at home for free and zero paperwork, I'd like to get a SP5k. I almost and should have bought one about 18 months ago, when they were 2500-2600 bucks. Now, all I've seen are 3200 dollar ones, usually is some nasty yellow color, or lately the OD/black. Any MP5 must be in all black. For those that have bought one in the last few months - from where did you buy, and how much? Not interested in a Turk clone, so please no "don't waste your money ..." posts. |

The price started jumping when HK announced they had suspended production. Dont expect the price to go down anytime soon. So either get over the :"ts gotta be a reeeeeel HK" or pay the prices but remember HK hates you either way. Sorry brother I was a big HK fan. Today theres nothing wrong with the guns made on HK equipment AP5s, MACs etc if you want a shooter. If you want an investment then I guess buy a HK but dont shoot it RAL 8000 is Afrika Korps tan. Its an historically correct colour for German Weapons still even today |

Yeah not buying the Turkish stuff - too many posts about all the parts they have to swap out to get them to run. Just not interested. I'll buy one and shoot it - don't do the gun investment thing, which is foolish for anything except MG's and even then worse than the S&P 500. The tan color looks more yellow than tan, and is horrible on a MP5 series. |

They started using it in Afrika and continued into Europe during WW2 and still use it today BUT it does take a bit to accept it for what it is. I did see a cool tiger striped version, where someone put black stipes over the tan Not sure what to say about the parts swop threads. I have a AP5K and the only part I swopped was the trigger for a binary. Id take it to battle without any fears of failure |

What have you tried to solve it? The only issue I had with my AP5 was a bad mag catch. Only other part I swapped out was the locking piece because I mainly shoot suppressed. I’d much rather spend $1200+~$100 in small parts and maybe an HK mag than whatever SP5’s go for these days. Also, AP5’s are a true 3 pin design. They are arguably more “clone correct” to the MP5 than the SP5 is, besides the roll mark. Definitely a gun I’d want to look over in person before purchasing it if I could, but I bought mine sight unseen from Atlantic with zero regrets. Also, the AP5/AP5P Navy have the four position trigger housings. ETA yeah 3.5 to 4k for an SP5 on gun broker. No thanks, I’ll swap a few small parts at most and spend the rest on ammo.

The SP5 is a true Semiauto variant of the MP5, made by HK Germany. It doesn’t get any better than that. |

Black. As it’s supposed to be. Another one in black And another in black at a better price Yet another in black I would just bite the bullet and pay the going rate for an HK SP5K-PDW. While you’re at it, get the HK marked folder. Currently OOS, but sign up for in stock notification. They come back in stock pretty frequently. Another excellent option is the HK factory UMP folder for the MP5K. I have one on one of my SP5K. |
