I plan on sbring the thing, but I want the ability to switch back and forth. What's the more economical route to both? Looks like an SBR front end is about 500. |

I recently did some of these numbers. These give you identical end packages; you may not care about SquareDrop vs MLOK so subtract that out. Either way, it comes close. Which do you want to shoot more until the Form 1 comes back?
ACR Pistol ($1600) + MLOK handguard ($200 | $150 at the next 25% sale) + folding stock ($170 | $128) + 16" barrel ($600 | $450) + $200 stamp = $2820 | $2528, if you sell the SquareDrop handguard you'll get some back, figure $100-$150. ACR 16" MLOK ($1750) + 10.5" barrel ($600 | $450) + $200 stamp = $2550 | $2400. For me, I already have a pinned 14.5" ACR but I want to do a dedicated SBR version with the new MLOK handguard, so the better deal for me is the pistol as I don't end up spending money on an extra barrel I don't want or need and I could kick the can down the road on the handguard to spread the costs out. Waiting on the semi-annual 25% sales is best way to do a cherry picked design. I want a DMR ACR too, but I find shooting SBRs at closer ranges more fun.  It's a smooth operating firearm.
