Is there a good tutorial out there or just read through the sticky thread up top? Some of the tutorials I have seems are still referencing the $200 tax stamp so I know those are outdated. ETA: I will be filling as an individual |

If SS does the form 1, they attach electronic prints and they send the CLEO notification letter. Nothing else for you to do. If you do the eForm 1 yourself, you’re responsible for both. If you attach electronic prints, you not need to send a cover letter or fingerprint cards. If you don’t do electronic prints, then you send in the cover letter with your fingerprint cards to the ATF. Also, you need to do the CLEO notification no matter what. |

If you are talking a cover letter for mailed prints, yes it is required. If you are talking about the cover letter the ATF e-mails you after you have submitted an electronic finger print file, if it says "REC'D" in the lower right corner, that means they received your electronic prints and the cover letter is not required and you don't have to send in paper prints. |
