Some reason the shells jump back in the action too far and block the loading gate from being used. This makes it so the rifle cant be topped off.

It has apparently a later style carrier or shell lifter(I dont know the name). Online shows early post 64 different style. |

That makes it look like something on the lever is keeping the shell in the magazine.
