I have two suppressors bought at two different dealers, one was a new dealer that had since closed up after the owner died and the other is a well established dealer that's been around for years with lots of NFA experience. When I picked up my suppressor from the now closed dealer they gave me the multi page paperwork with the green stamp copy on the front and my color photo on the second page. The other dealer I'm now using just gave me the front page which I also believe is a photo copy because the stamp isn't colored. What exactly am I supposed to get? I know the photo copy is recommended to carry with you when going to the range but do you have to have the original somewhere in your possession or can the dealer have it? |
| I get back my application form with a stamp. They dont use a color printer so the stamp is black. |

I’ve only bought from 1 local dealer and they’ve only ever given me a printed out copy of page 1 of the eform in b&w. Pretty sure I do have the complete 3 page set of eform pages that were emailed to me from the ATF when items were approved. |

The dealer usually gives me a copy of the Stamp page, I’d have to look if I was given all the paperwork, it’s possible and I print a couple copies of the original from the ATF approval email. |
| If it was an eForm submission, it’s always going to be a printout. There is no hard copy with a physical stamp like with the old paper forms. It’s simply a choice whether it gets printed out in color or in black and white, or whether all three pages get printed or just the first page. Since everyone gets their own copy of the .pdf sent to their email, I wouldn’t be surprised if many gun shops just print the minimum, first page in black and white. |

ATF doesn't have agents lurking around waiting to jump out and yell "show me your stamp!". Gun Range employees on the other hand will. eForms: On approval, ATF should email both transferor and transferee a copy of the approved form. Sometimes eForms has a glitch and only the dealer gets the email and sometimes no one gets the approval email. Then the dealer has to go into his eForms and print out a copy. |

I scanned mine that came with a physical stamp. I always download my PDFs. I keep all the electronice copies in the same folder. And i have a complete printed set in the safe just in case. |
