my TL30 locking bolts were sticking and I put some lithium grease on them and seams to be working but is there a preferred product? It looked like it had white stuff that was all dried up and it was binding a bit. Safe is not that old maybe 5 year but was in a store and probably not teated well. Looking at it a bit more I think someone closed the door with the bolts locked out and that is making some parts rub a bit at times. It's a Gardall TL-30 with a 1000lb door. I got a super deal on it when store was closing and put a new S&G lock on it. It's my forever safe

I would not over think this- it needs some lubrication, but it is not a highly stressed or constantly in motion part. If you actually lube the moving parts you are ahead of most safe owners… I have taken apart a few safe doors and sometimes just moved the grease from the bottom of the lock works back up to the top, the grease mostly just had gravity effecting it, nothing else… |
