Just buy a Ruger 10-22 and stop trying to make the AR15 something it was never ment to be. 22 ammo is lead or lightly copper coated and causes an unacceptable level of lead fouling in a. .223. / 5.56 And if you have a real class 3 : M16 with a stamp you sure don’t want to screw it up playing with 22LR ammo. Want to pretend …S&W. M&P. 15-22 has the look you are after. |

Also, I think (but could easily be wrong), OP might have just meant a 22 Upper to go on an AR Lower... Thats what I was lookin for. |

I used the CMMG conversion kit along with an auto sear trip kit. The first upper that I tried it in didn't work well at all, but I put another upper on my M16 lower and it now runs 100%. I don't see how this would damage an M16 receiver. I clean out the upper half by running some regular 223Rem through it after the 22LR. Definitely expect it to be ammo picky. Want to pretend …S&W. M&P. 15-22 has the look you are after. I have one of these as well and it runs 100%. Unfortunately, there's no full auto. :( |

If you want to buy an upper. Get a CMMG dedicated 22lr upper. Not a conversion kit. Get a CMMG auto sear trip and a BoreBuddy bolt weight kit. To build your own. Get whatever upper you like a CMMG 22lr dedicated barrel with bolt and the same trip and weight. I have three setups and they all run excellent with my Colt M16 |

You've got a Sendra RR converted by JAC so the correct answer is to go with a Ciener kit otherwise Jonathan will be really upset.  I use a Ciener kit with the "ball detent mod" no ABW just the sear trip. I've run it for 20 years in 2 different uppers with 5.56/223 barrels. I've broken the back plate off the guide rail assembly and broken a sear trip too. Lakeside recoil spring cut to 8.5". One barrel is short enough that the gas port was eliminated and on the other barrel I simply plugged the gas port in the FSB. It will usually go to 300 rds or more before I need to wipe the crud off the breach & bolt faces and oil the rails again. I do have a 9" CMMG style barrel with the proper twist rate but I don't use it on the M16. It's pretty accurate so I run it on a semi lower, seems like a waste to use it as a FA blaster. |

OP - I know you have the real deal and I, along with many others I'm sure, am envious. The FRT forum could be useful to find what you are looking for since the concept and mechanics are very similar. ELittlefield(sp?) and Jaquefrost(s?) are a couple members, among others, over there that seem to up on getting the FRT's to work so they may be of help to you too. Good luck. |

Absolutely the most fun out of all the other caliber uppers I have. |
