I am currently sitting on a couple of approved Form 1s (for SBRs). I had held off finalizing the builds until the “no re-engraving” rule kicked in. I am a member of one of the Plaintiff organizations in Jensen v BATFE, so I am covered by that injunction. As such, it looks like I can convert any of my rifles into an SBR without BATFE pre-approval. If I contacted BATFE to inform them that I never made the SBRs and asked them to remove the SBRs from the registry, will the records be expunged or just recorded as “removed” while remaining tied to my name? My goal here is to be able to do the SBR conversions immediately without having to engrave the guns, and to remain free to sell them at a later date without NFA encumbrances (assuming otherwise legal). I’m not going to cancel the Form 1s until the dust settles, but I’m interested in knowing how the process works in this scenario. |

If I remember correctly when I canceled the stamp on my P90 it was just marked canceled. I'll have to log into eForms and search for the control number. I emailed Ted Clutter about it. But it was 10 years ago details are a bit fuzzy. Tagged for later |
