| I have a couple bolt guns and a single shot that are all 30 cal, 308 or under that I'd like a can for. I had the Liberty Mach-L recommended. I was told it is the quietest can out there. These are the dealers' words, not mine. I looked at a CAT can. Seemed ok, but it was pretty heavy. Just wondering what else is available that's very quite and preferably not too heavy. |

The quietest 30cal suppressor I have, and arguably on the market, is the AEM M24 followed immediately by the AEM5-30. Same baffle stack but the M24 requires the barrel be milled or the use of a collar and it threads onto the muzzle threads. The AEM5-30 mounts to a muzzle brake/flash hider but also requires a collar to make sure everything is lining up correctly. I use the M24 on a bolt .308. They are over the barrel suppressors and while they aren't small, there is less sticking off the front. Using the same Over the Barrel concept, the AB Raptor 10 with the 5" reflex chamber is unbelievably quiet as well and doesn't use the profile/collar setup that the AEM suppressors require. It does direct thread to the muzzle itself without a device. I currently use one on a 300 PRC and it is comically quiet, especially considering the caliber. People at the range always ask what I'm shooting because it is so quiet. It's a TI suppressor so fairly light for what it is. After those, I have and like the OCL Hydrogen-L and the Aero Precision Lahar 30L. Like you I'm not a huge fan of the flow through on a bolt gun, and that isn't what they are created for anyway. In addition to those I have a SiCo Scythe STM, a YHM Resonator 2, a Huxwrx Ventum 762 and a few different 30 cal SureFire suppressors. The M24 and the AB Raptor beat them all. |

I just read up on the AEM5-30. I like that a lot. The issue I might have there is my main rifle I want to use it on is a Bargara with a carbon fiber barrel. I'm not sure the collar would fit, or if it should be mounted to carbon fiber. |

I just use Omega 300s and have a Diligent Defense Enticer S too. I like those, not a fan of the long cans. Those all work well. I would like a Ridgeback Sahara though, I think that would be sweet. |

There are so many good 30 cal cans out and coming out these days, good times! I searched for the same and landed on the Nomad LTI XC, it is very quiet, good tone. No regerts!! Others I was really considering and have seen in use first hand are the Hydrogen L and the Hyperion. If side by side you could likely pick nits but separately, all good! |

Enticer L TI would be my choice. Quietest can from Pew Science, 10 oz, removable front cap incase you want to run a brake like a Recoil X or other Dead Air pattern end caps, Hub attachment and affordable. Checks all my boxes for a bolt gun. I run Omegas right now in that roll but The Enticer would be a step up. Here |

AB Raptor enroute. Unfortunately, I ordered it a day before the court ruling so I still have to do paperwork. Had I known that was all happening I would have waited until they figured out how to process suppressors. But either way, I'm happy it's coming. I'm sure it'll be much quiter that my AAC SDN-6. |

A federal district court ruling does not invalidate federal law, it just means federal prosecutors in that specific district (generally) can't prosecute under the law or rule that was determined to be unconstitutional. The injunction stops the ATF from enforcing federal gun registration requirements, Form 1 and Form 4 applications, fingerprinting, and photography mandates against the protected parties. The court stayed the order for seven days so the Department of Justice can seek appellate review if it chooses to do so. I'm sure one of our lawyers in here can explain it better. |

Yeah, suppressors/SBRs are NOT coming off the NFA just because of this ruling. That is still well down the line if ever. |

Silencer shop does interstate commerce with dealers, so in their district doesn’t allow them to change anything except perhaps sales in Texas at their location? So if there is no appeal in the 7 days, they still have to sell on form 3 across the US to their dealers? Or what is the anticipated impact? |

If I was going to go dedicated bolt suppressor, it would be Ti- as light as possible As large of dia/ size as possible saving weight by being Ti Direct thread for more weight savings Sealed, traditional baffles. Not flow through. So that takes Hux, CAT, and some of the newer makers off the board. Liberty, Griffin, SiCo, OCL should all have good options for this. |
I don’t like making plans for the day. Because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around in the courtroom.

Vanrichten, I got my AB Raptor 8 and ran a few rounds though it finally. VERY impressive. Its smaller, much lighter and much quieter than my last 308 can. This thing is great. I was shooting my 20" bolt gun with no headphones. I wouldn't do that regularly but It's defiantly not an issue for a couple rounds. 300 BLK subsonic sounds like a suppressed 22. Supersonic sounds like an unsuppressed 22. Defiantly the quietest can I've ever owned. |

The OCL Hydrogen L is pretty much top dog for .308 bolt guns. That said, having spent a lot of time listening and then pouring over the data at Silencer Summit for 3 years now, IMO you'd be really hard pressed to notice a difference between any of the 20 or so cans that are metering SE dBA around 125 with impulse db*ms under about 105 and dBA leq below about 115, 116. "tone" would be really the only thing that distinguishes them, but again, even with a pretty calibrated industry ear, I don't think I could pick any can out of that group as the quietest consistently from one day to the next. That category is pretty well all gonna be over 8" and at least 1.6" diameter if size is a factor for you, though. |
