As the title says, my DSA SA 58 already has a surplus Isreali buttstock in primo condition, would like to add a wooden pistol grip and wood forends that will accept the bipod. Any leads on the furniture quest would be greatly appreciated.Thank you all in advance.

There are two types of STG-58 wood stocks. There was the one with the metal butt plate and ferrule cap against the lower similar to your Israeli stock and the version with a shorter wood stock and thicker recoil pad. I had one that was the ferrule type and when I refinished the wood to original color removing the years of aged oil when I got it as a kit from DSA (many many years ago in the 90s) - it was more blonde in color but I am fairly certain its a different species than the Israeli wood. I think the Israelis are beech and the EU ones are Walnut of some type and some Walnut can have blonde tones. Good luck on getting it original - you will love that gun! |

FAL bipod was for FA use. |

| Flypaper on the FAL FILES makes nice wood furniture for the FAL. Not sure if he does metric pattern handguards cut for bipod. He does buttstocks and pistol grips in wood. Best to check with him over there. |
| Have a new DSA turkish walnut pistol grip on the way. Got ahold of Fly paper on FALFILES and bought a set of wood for the forend, Ill remove the bipod and color match the new forends to match the buttstock and pistol. Just love wood and Iron mix. PIcs as I go along soon to come. |
OK, Step two....I've recieved beautiful wood from DSA, Turkish walnut pistol grip. And from Flypaper on the FAL Files a American Walnut set of wooden forends. I cannot express how impressed I am with Flypapers work. Now off to sherwin williams to color match stain. I may just sand down the Isreali buttstock to even out the colors as its made from Beechwood. More pics to come as I progress along.  I removed the DSA folding bipod, If anyone is looking for one DM me. |

That looks phenomenal! There’s something very satisfying about cleaning up and finishing a wood stock set. I did a Zastava M77 set with tung oil and beeswax a couple years ago. Pain in the butt but loved the outcome. |

| Got the fourth coating of BLO applied letting it dry, and reassembly comes tommorow. Really looking forward to seeing the end results. BTW if you ever going to completely dissaemble your FAL get the FAL Tool set from DSA, makes small and easy work of an otherwise complicated problem. |
