I’ve probably shot 100 rounds through this ACR, 20 ish rounds today before it jammed and I noticed this in the action.

Pretty sure that piece doesn't belong anywhere on an ACR. Looks like someone jammed something in there indeed.
As for the bolt carrier rail screw missing, that's quite normal, unfortunately. Pretty wide spread issue for those screws to fall out. One missing isn't going to cause any issues though. You need to go through and Locktite those in when you get an ACR. I can't fathom why Bushmaster STILL hasn't started Locktiting those at the factory; I can't figure out how they could not know it's an issue. When I called Bushmaster to get replacement screws for mine last summer, I suggested to the customer service rep that they really should Locktite those at the factory, and he said that's the first he'd ever heard of it being a problem. HUH, seriously?! |

So it looks like someone actually cut brass to fit and took the time paint it black to match and glue it in the receiver lol.Either way I'm willing to bet the previous owner will deny ever being that stupid. No reason I can come up with for this other than the previous owner being stupid. |
