Please re-read the site CoC.
Keep all trades, offer for trades, sales, offers to buy, whatever in the way of commerce out of threads in this forum. For an example, if you see something in a thread you want to make offer to buy, or you own something you want to offer to sell to someone, keep all communication in IM's and emails. Everything for sale or trade goes into the Equipment Exchange. The site owner is inflexible on this topic. From this point forward I will simply lock any threads I find with this activity. No comments or warnings will be added to the thread. I have been asked to edit the posts with this activity so an otherwise productive thread doesn't get locked; I am not going to do that work. Locking the thread is a compromise as some site staff is of the opinion that the thread should be deleted. Giving stuff away is still okay, that has always been permitted. Asking for the value of a gun, scope, or other propery is also okay and has never been restricted. From the Conduct Code: Specific To Sales 1.) Companies or individuals cannot advertise or sell products and or services in the forums (including siglines and titles) without prior approval from the site owners. (Industry Partners are allowed to post sales or specials on a limited basis.) 2.) Individuals interested in selling or trading equipment should resort to the Equipment Exchange. At no time should an item be listed in any discussion forum. (This includes links to auctions.) 3.) Fraudulent practices or attempts to defraud another person or group will be dealt with very seriously. This is clear. Everyone reading this agreed to this condition when joining the web site. |

i think i've seen one comment recently where one poster asked if they wanted to sell something and the person being asked declined.
i took it as a tongue in cheek offer and not a serious one... doesn't matter i wasn't involved in that and i'm not trying to argue about the policy... just saying that sometimes it may not be serious. no argument that any of that stuff should be via PM or email... but some people have email turned off, their PM box full, etc. on a positive note, at leat we're back to the "Classic EE" and not that "New EE" crap. the idea was great, but it needs lots more beta testing. reminded me of this!
