| A friend of mine has a Rossi R92 .454 caliber. He's had it for years, reloads all his own ammo, doesn't use fmj has taken deer and elk with it, and never had an issue. |

My 357mag Rossi 92 is an older Interarms imported gun and feeds just about anything except for maybe full wadcutters. I recently loaded some 300gr TC’s from Missouri Bullet Co at 1.61” and they cycle just fine. My Classic is an early one I picked up used last year. It was keyholing 240gr SWC’s due to the 1/38 twist barrel, and it also was not ejecting well. Got an RMA from Henry and they fixed it. New 1/20 twist barrel, new mag tube (because of the new barrel), and a new bolt. Runs like a top now. |

10 minutes with a 1 minute “intro” to say his Rossi doesn’t feed reliably after two warranty trips back? Sounds like a long winded complainer to me! Seen plenty of similar feeding issues on all manner of guns, often caused by burrs or sharp edges. Friend has a $5k tommy built that jammed up on a the mouth of the chamber that wasn’t chamfered, he broke the edge of the chamber with a needle file and cycled dummy rounds through it a few hundred times and now it cycles great. My Rossi has cycled great since day one. |

My Rossi m.92 “Mare’s Leg” in .44mag has been mostly reliable. It does not really like semi-wadcutters or broad hollow-points. With round nose bullets it functions fine. My only other complaints are that the wood was pretty ugly, so I refinished it and gave it a bit of an artificial patina. While removing the forend, I had a screw head shatter with just a little applied torque. It was so brittle, the head just broke into little pieces like a carbide tap. I was able to find a replacement from “Jack’s First” for a buck, so no big deal but it made me wonder about the metallurgy in the rest of the rife. Still, lots of “cowboy” loads through it without problem. I don’t really have a “purpose” for this gun other than as a novelty but I’ll keep it. |
