This is sort of part two to my last thread “AGM RATTLER-C V2 19-256 or something else?” So I learned that Thermal clip ons need to be programmed to each optic you want to use them on. Plus they have limitation in clarity and distance. For 50-150 yards of hunting in woods, would gen3 night vision be a better option? |
For hunting? I'd say thermals. Disclaimer: I've never done any thermal hunting, just a dude who owns some NV and has done some night hikes and shoots with the boys. Generally this ^^^^ unless 100% PID is a must, then a purpose built clip on will be your jammy. For finding game 24/7 defiantly a TWS all day and twice on Sunday. |

Nothing hides from thermal but I have always been a NV guy when it comes to the actual shooting. Up until recently I had been using a fusion device for walking and scanning and again NV for shooting. I have never had a problem using additional IR illumination while using NV and actually prefer it for eye shine. We have fishers in my state that cannot be shot so positive ID is needed when shooting the smaller predators. |

or you could have both in one optic , albeit digital night vision. but for 50 to 150 it should be fine PARD TD 32 | The Most Advanced Optic I've Seen! |

The separate channels was a great feature as well. Be nice if someone outside of China incorporated thermal into duals but in the left pod, not cost a kidney, and of course be available sometime in the near future. |

Fusion head unit (either binos with my TAD, or pvs14 Rayvn rail with my sidekick 640 pro), and raid xe on the gun with Acro P2 for when IR isnt a good idea such as heavy fog. My engagement is 150m and in. If I were shooting further, Id go clip on. Likely thermal. |
