Worked on an 870 update.
Started with an older 870 from Scattergun Technologies and then added some additional goodies. Before: 
Here is the forend I used from Magpul: 
This is the stock kit from Mesa Tactical - complete including the recoil buffer. I can tell you I'll be replacing the stock - it "rattles" a bit on the buffer tube and I am not a big fan of the sling strap holder built into the stock. Cool thing is I can swap stocks with my ARs.

Here is the finished 870 perhaps a little "badder" 
Relatively easy update. Wasn't sure the Magpul forend was going to be a good idea but after having it on there I really like the feel. (and look). I need to add a new sling, something like a multi-mission or clone. |

Test fired a "new" Remington Model 11 today, this one from the 1920s. It chugged right along with buckshot and birdshot. There is just something about these Remington shotguns (aside from their usually cheap price) that I really like. The wood on this one has been replaced, but this girl could oboviously tell some stories about where she's been for the last 90 years.
Those were the days when American industry pounded these tank-like guns out by the thousands.

How did you date yours from the 20's, My understanding is the inside the trigger guard safety was deleted in 1911. If you have any additional info i would appreciate it. Thanks |

Mesa Tactical High Tube adapter, Standard AR grip and A2 buttstock, Laser Products Dedicated light forend, wide trigger, scope mount, TacStar 3 round extension. Still need a plain 20in barrel with heat shield, and a red dot....

Well it is quite long, and I understand a lot of people think it's ugly. I did just order an A1 stock for it, a bit shorter. The LOP is 14.5 in right now, so with the A1 it should be 14in or so. My Kahr Arms Thompson has a 17.25in LOP  My Bushmaster M17s is 15 in, So I guess I'm used to longer LOPs.

Here is my newly refinished 11-87 Premier setup as a tactical autoloader. Chris Peters' work at Metaloy Industries is among the finest in the industry. All of the finish work, he did. The gun wears grey Taktikote and sports a Mesa Urbino stock.

Im sure they are super ergo though. |
Latest addition to the family. It cycles absolutely everything I run through it. It's lightweight so it kicks like a mule with the heavy stuff.

Mossy 590A... She was sitting on a synthetic non-pistol grip style stock last week
But I opted to swap out the stock for a fixed position pistol gripped stock.. But I can't make up my mind about it.. Although I like the feel much more, operating the slide release and safety are much more difficult... This how she's configured at the moment.. Anyone else have the same kind of ordeal with a tac stock on the Mossy 500/590?

The PG stock makes it impossible to take down and clean without removal of the stock. I went back to the standard stock because of it.

MKA 1919 with Aimpoint Pro and Streamlight M3. Its pretty fun to shoot and reliable with buckshot and slugs. I'm debating whether or not to spend the money to make it 922R compliant so I can run the ten round magazines. My feeling is that would be good for competition but even with 5 round magazines I think it is a pretty good setup for home defense or utility work. The controls are all AR style except for the charging handle which is on the bolt.

I'm going to try them first to make sure the barrel doesn't explode in my hands.. Then I'm planning on turning a few of them into shorty wax slugs. At work we have this heat resistant fabric and that is what I put over the barrel in front of the foregrip - keep me from burning my hands. It looked almost exactly like ARdvarks shotgun a few posts before mine when I bought it, except imagine it covered in rust. I'm very happy with it's looks. I took an early 1900's shotgun and think I made it look pretty friggin cool. Can't wait to shoot it. I'll have to post videos to my youtube channel.. 1-1/2" wax slugs through a refurbished single shooter - woo-hoo. |

If you are worried about it failing, I would tie it to a spare tire and use a string tied to the trigger. |

My 870, finally finished! I think. I may switch to a Remington factory magazine extension, since
I can't find a mag-tube clamp that fits the Wilson Combat/Scattergun Tech I have on it now. I may eventually add a set of XS sights, as my budget allows, since the factory rifle sights are a bit hard to see sometimes. Still, they serve their purpose adequately. I've rebuilt this 870 numerous times, in every possible configuration, and I think I finally have it set up just right for me.. Bonus tactical white towel for contrast!

Who needs additional side-saddle rounds? Not this little guy!
Took it to the range and set the EOtech & BUIS up for a 100yd zero. At 20 yds it puts 1oz rifled slugs in a fist sized group. At 20yds 00B pellets spread about 16" diameter and shoot to POA and #7.5 birdshot fills the Eotech 65moa ring at POA as well. Couldn't ask for more. And with some practice and the 65moa Eotech ring, hand thrown clays should be a breeze.
