And it’s $1,500. https://www.bauer-precision.com/bronco-defense-spas-12-semi-auto-pump-action-12-gauge-shotgun-8-rds/ These are built on M4 clones, so it’s basically ~$1,000 for the handguard and stock. I was interested, but at that cost? ETA: This was outdated info. They moved forward with making it convertible and a more honest SPAS clone.

The Broncos are being listed on Gunbroker at $1400 on the high end down to $999 I think at $999 they will have a market for these- either there is a lot of meat on the bone for wholesale vs. retail pricing, or someone is trying to dump a couple of them quick. Sven Manticore Arms |

Updated the original post. The initial talk was that they were going to redesign M4 clones. Guessing they found that redesigning the buffer made it all a wash, and they might as well make it convertible too. That would also explain why they took a year and a half of development. So these are more true SPAS clones. That complexity does increase cost. At $1000 street price it is still a bit much for a Turkish shotgun, but I think it’s much more fair than I initially thought. |

Hopefully the price will go down a little, but the look is pretty good. Are they imported with the stock (Or is it technically considered a "brace" with the hook?) The hook was an arm brace and sort of curious if that is how its imported OR do you have to add it post US importation? |

It's a stock not a brace, but you do bring up an interesting question about 922r. I wonder if the high price is because they are importing them with a different stock and converting them here back to the original folding stock and adding the needed US compliance parts? |

I was going to chime in and comment on the $800 post but this covered it pretty well. You can't buy an original for less than about $3500 right now. Why would a "turkish clone" be less than 1/4 of that? Is it a toy? Yes Are there better shotguns available everywhere? Yes Are they as cool as a SPAS? Not even close. |

I have one, its a convertible semiautomatic and pump. https://www.jtsstore.com/product/jts-m12pt-2-inertia-pump-action-shotgun/ It was like $150 on clearance at PSA

I will buy one when the price comes down because of the fun factor. The only reason that the originals are the price they are today is because they are only available in limited numbers and there are no more. Otherwise, even the original spas would be a sub $1,500 shotgun if still made today. |

Ran across this. Side by side look at the clone and original. I'll keep my original. ![]() Turkish SPAS-12 Clone Vs The Original |

AI Summary below: Turkish SPAS-12 Clone vs. the Original (Mars Arms review of the Sulun SPASS-12) The video reviews the new Turkish-made Sulun SPASS-12 shotgun and compares it side-by-side with an original Franchi SPAS-12. The reviewer put roughly 120–150 rounds through the clone. Short summary of performance •It prefers heavier loads. •For best reliability, keep the magazine capped at 5 rounds. •Avoid one-handed shooting using the hook. Reliability notes Two recurring issues appeared: 1. Occasional failure of rounds to feed properly from the magazine tube (suspected follower hang-up at the extension transition + relatively weak magazine spring). A stronger spring fixed it. Limiting capacity to 5 rounds avoids the problem. 2. When shooting one-handed, the forend could drift out of the semi-auto position, causing failures to fire. This does not occur when shooting normally from the shoulder with the support hand on the forend. Lighter loads (e.g., Suprema 1 oz buckshot at ~1,300–1,350 fps) mostly ran when shoulder-fired but produced occasional stovepipes. Winchester buckshot and Remington slugs ran cleanly. The original Franchi handled the same light loads more reliably, including one-handed. Key comparisons: The clone is a close visual and functional copy but differs in many details: •Muzzle/barrel: Slightly different thread protector and no step on the barrel; proprietary threads (common on Turkish guns) limit accessory options. •Sights: Older-style front sight on the clone; rear sight is a plain circle (original has a bottom notch for slugs). •Magazine tube: Extension is similar but aluminum (vs. steel) and thicker; wider sling swivel. •Handguard/forend: Very close overall; slightly different screw/line placement and a weaker spring on the mode-selector button (easier to switch modes, but likely contributes to the one-handed reliability issue). •Receiver/controls: Carrier latch on the right (no left-side controls). No magazine cutoff. Easier to load (relieved bottom). Comes with a Picatinny rail on top (reviewer removed it as ugly and it interfered with folding the stock). •Trigger group: Standard (non-enlarged) trigger guard. Simple cross-bolt safety behind the trigger (convenient but mediocre feel). In pump mode the action can open without pulling the trigger (unlike the original’s more complex lever that acts as both action release and secondary safety). •Grip/stock: Similar overall but many detail differences. One-piece grip with a large bottom hole (original is solid two-piece). Longer length of pull (~14.5” vs. ~13”). Different stock geometry, pivot location, and angle (partly to clear the rear sight when folded). Weaker hook spring and less effective buffer (potential for long-term wear). Hook shape is simpler/less curved. Folding mechanism works but is stiffer or less refined in places; missing bumper piece on the clone. Overall takeaway: The Sulun is a recognizable, functional clone of the iconic SPAS-12 with some convenience improvements (easier loading, simpler safety, mode switch) and some compromises (reliability quirks with light loads or one-handed use, weaker springs, proprietary parts, less refined stock geometry and buffers). It works best with heavier ammo and a 5-round magazine limit when shooting conventionally from the shoulder. The original remains smoother and more reliable in the reviewer’s limited testing. |

I bought one of the sulun guns and got it for 1,000 from Blitzkrieg LLC (They imported) in MI. I've put roughly 250 rounds through it. In that, most being high brass target loads, slugs, and 00 buckshot. If it's full power rounds it eats it just fine. Mine is now cycling most target loads regardless of high/low brass if they are around the 1350 FPS mark. Not a big issue for me as that is what the pump is for. I had to have it as I have always wanted a spas but missed the boat when they were sub 2k and unwilling to pay the price they want for them now. The tear down shows it's mostly just a simplified version of the spas with the gas piston being a smaller simpler design (No O-ring). I am very pleased with mine so far. The only gripes I have is mostly cosmetic. The brighter grey for the heatshield and stock were certainly a design choice. The stock also seems to have been changed between ones that were imported vs what was shown before import. For some reason the angle seems off with the stock extended. Like they placed the hole for the detent in the wrong space so it doesn't square up. Almost like it sits at an angle. If you look at some of the earlier pics, or stock photos you can see the difference in the detent hole spacing vs units that are here. vs mine Attached File Attached File Attached File As I stated mostly just minor gripes. Overly very happy with my purchase. |

Sulun Arms. Fixed stock or a shoulder thing that goes up and sideways. The feed port has been lowered and edges rounded somehow. The door looked crooked to me. They cloned the jamming and malfunctions fairly correctly. It ran pretty well with the plug but a proper spring is needed to run with it removed. He’s grinning pretty much the whole time. Looks fun. ![]() Sulun Arms SPASS-12: The Spas-12 Is back! |
| Any idea how many of these are being imported? I want one, but my autism really doesn’t like the stock angle when unfolded lol. I’m kind of torn between getting one now or taking the chance on an improved batch if they in fact come in. I suppose I could also just weld the existing hole and redrill it to the proper location. It would be a good excuse to refinish the stock and heat shield to a more correct darker finish anyway. |

Not sure but seems like they are selling well and I expect price may come down a little if it cools off. Idk if there is another version with the bronco one that’s out there with the darker stock. If I see another version of the stock I can buy with the better angle I’ll likely jump on it as I’m sure they are all the same (held on with one larger hex head screw). I couldn’t pass on it despite the goofy stock angle. I’m plenty happy with it overall. |

I’ve read both that Sulun is the manufacturer and Bronco is the exporter and also that they are both separate manufacturers. I’ve seen those same pictures and they do look better. I’m definitely going to pick one up as soon as I can as it’s way better than my nonexistent SPAS 12 now lol. I had an original in the 90s and I hate myself for getting rid of it. |

What's even weirder looking at pics above the bronco version that was advertised has the rear site latch for the folding stock as well which the sulun def doesn't have. it's just held in place with the detent. |

Good catch, I didn’t even see that. One needs the rear sight latch for a proper Muldoon larp lol. I get why they chose the latch style they did as it’s similar to make, but the rear sight latch is the best version imho. |
