Updated- see new post I have been asking a lot of questions recently due to getting this thing back on Memorial Day weekend. I then immediately left town for work and haven’t been home since. I have been acquiring components and now I am finally almost done. I still have a few small things to do. I am going to replace the Trijicon mount with something else, probably Scalarworks. I have the Surefire UE tail cap and a Modbutton lite with lead coming that’s going on a Trajectory Arms NAS K button mount. That will finish out the light set up. I may switch out the front hand guard also, just not sure with what yet. I have a Form 1 pending, once that clears I will add the KES tele stock. I do plan to keep the Gearhead Works MOD1C brace for traveling though. I currently have the Obsidian 9 on it but also have a Form 4 pending for an OCL Milkman. That will be dedicated to this and the Obsidian will go back to pistol use. I did manage to snag a HK pictogram ambi Navy housing to complete to look and match the FTR. I love this thing. Honestly probably more than my best ARs. I have never really been a PCC/sub gun fan…but this changes that. I don’t think I will get any more because this is and always has been my favorite of that category. I feel like I have checked off a bucket list firearm. Great design. It’s the Trijicon factory MRO mount that I want to change. I just don’t like the blockyness of it lol. |

Slight changes to light set up and new can. I added a section of cantilever rail to push the surefire out forward a bit more and added the NAS K/modbutton lite, and of course the Milkman suppressor. I did also finally find a B&T MP5K telescopic stock and have it ordered. That will have to wait until the Form 1 gets approved. Here are a couple of quick pics. I snobbed out and obviously went with the HK. That said one of my friends kitted out an MKE very similar to mine posted above. He did add some key HK parts(ejector,ejector lever, spring). HK mags, etc. I shot both side by side a couple of weeks ago. Honestly, it’s hard to feel any difference. I am happy with my HK and I have the money to blow to be a part of the elite class but I wouldn’t hesitate to rock an MKE if money was tight or I wasn’t hooked on owning HK. The HK feels a bit smoother manually cycling the action and there are some finer details the HK has going for it but probably not $2K difference worth. I’d be very happy with a well running MKE. |
