I have this silencer sitting around, that I don't really have any use for. It's heavier than my dedicated Thunder Beast hunting can, and it's not built heavy enough to put on an FRT gun, which is most of my ARs at this point. How stupid would it be to put it on an 11.5" AR, not intending to mag dump into garbage with it, and it would be on my dedicated night vision upper? I would obviously voluntarily forfeit any warranty claim, and I would try to mitigate muzzle blast damage and wear with a muzzle brake of some kind... any recommendations for an especially aggressive brake/HUB mount combo? The current utility of the silencer to me is zero. It's been cerakoted FDE, so I can't retire it to a classy hunting rifle, and don't want to try selling it. I can't run full magazines at cyclic rate. Will it stand up to a low to medium firing schedule on a short barrel? It does have an Inconel blast baffle, so it's not exactly made out of tissue paper. |

That being said a lighter can on a short rifle is probably on the easier end to overwhelm. Normal non high volume use the thing probably lasts forever. The reason I looked it up is I thought I remembered guidance on shots per minute or similar with the original harvester. It could have been a video or some internet bullshit I can't remember. |

Maybe try a YHM hub mount and brake, it will get the muzzle about an inch further from your blast baffle and a big three port brake. Take offs can be found cheap. And for science get a laser thermometer and take a couple shots and check the temperature and repeat. |

I have the same suppressor, for my 300 BO, im not dumping through it, but have not tried it in 223 yet. IIRC, the original documentation that came with mine said it was rated down to like 12 inch for 223/556, but the online docs changed it to 16, so maybe they were having problems with it or it was a typo. Edit: just looked at the book in the box, says rated down to 10 inch barrels for 223 Remington/5.56mm Nato. So the online versions have been updated to 16 for some reason. |
