How about a discussion about the possibility of swapping a CETME LC stock onto an already built CETME L? Deleted a bunch of crap from my original post as being too long and now I see bent welded receivers are available. Anyone know what’s exactly involved in completing this swap? This is what AI has to say on the subject. (My apologies, some of the formatting was lost in the copy/paste) Step-by-Step Conversion Process 1. Field Strip the RifleClear the firearm and ensure it is completely unloaded.Push out the two rear stock pins.Slide the standard CETME L plastic stock backward and off the receiver.Remove the standard captive recoil spring assembly.Remove the trigger housing pack.Pull back the charging handle and slide the standard bolt carrier group out of the rear of the receiver. 2. Swap the Internal Charging Handle Sled (The Hardest Step)Locate the cross-pin that holds the plastic cocking handle and its internal sled mechanism. This pin sits under the cocking handle tube.Use a small punch and a hammer to gently tap the pin out from the bottom. Work carefully: do not drive the pin forcefully into the barrel beneath it.Remove the standard CETME L charging handle and its internal sled. Keep track of the spring, as it can easily fly out under tension.Insert the shorter CETME LC sled into the cocking tube.Compress the cocking handle spring, align the handle with the new sled, and push the cross-pin back in from the top to secure it. 3. Install the LC InternalsTake your existing bolt head and components and swap them onto the CETME LC bolt carrier.Insert the reassembled LC bolt carrier group into the receiver.Guide the new, smaller CETME LC recoil spring assembly into position above the bolt carrier where it nests into the newly installed, shorter charging handle support. 4. Mount the Collapsing StockReinstall your trigger housing assembly and safety selector.Slide the metal CETME LC collapsing stock assembly onto the rear of the receiver rails.Line up the pinholes and push the two rear assembly pins back through to lock the stock to the receiver.Function check the action manually to ensure the shorter carrier rides smoothly and locks into the new recoil system before firing. HK pro forums had a guy do a pretty extensive post with lots of pictures. Forgotten Weapons has really good videos on the L and LC. The process is what the AI says. Only problem is that Cetme L parts are significantly less plentiful than G3/Cetme C parts. So there’s not as much room for error supply wise. Just bought a kit waiting to see what other build completion parts Centerfire offers. |

Almost Without a doubt someone has tried to do it with the new batch LC kits around and lots of Builds of fixed stock guns out there- but I haven't seen a thread on it other than noting the differences. That says to me - probably "juice isn't worth the squeeze" as it's not a simple swap back and forth deal - so not as many trying to do it unless they really want the folder essentially forever. I'd also think with the Spanish specs an a US receiver your stock might be difficult to retract etc. |

Just an update copied and pasted from the other CETME LC kits for sale post: When Marcolmar first started shipping guns I jumped on a CETME L in black with a rail because it was in my budget at the time. But, what I really wanted was an LC so eventually I sold the L. Getting an LC never seemed in my reach especially since they only went up in price. When I saw these kits selling for $150 I instantly knew an LC was somehow in my future. Honestly, I tried to convince myself I was going to build a complete gun myself but I knew realistically I wasn’t going to put in the time in to complete the build and possibly troubleshoot any issues that arose. So, somewhere between blasphemy and the WECSOG I came up with a plan to get what I really wanted which was a 16” barrel gun but with an LC stock. Having the LC barrel wasn’t really that important to me. As a bonus, I believe the 16” barrel gun can install a bayonet. I found a NIB CETME L in grey with a rail for $1150 online a few weeks ago. When I picked it up at the LGS which has a range I put 50 rounds through it to be sure it functioned OK. In honor of the film Coyote vs. Acme premiering this weekend I figured it was time to get to work. It really wasn’t that hard a job to do, or it wouldn’t have been a hard job if I was better schooled in how roller locked guns disassemble and reassemble. Honestly, I have to watch a video almost every time I service roller locked guns. The reason I say this is because if anyone asks me to explain how I did this I’m not honestly sure I could explain in a reasonable manner. Trust me, this conversion will be easy enough if you are well schooled in roller locked guns. The hardest part is swapping the cocking handle support which for me was actually pretty simple. If you’re interested this is what needs to be swapped: To install a CETME LC collapsing stock onto a standard CETME L rifle, you cannot just swap the stock; you must also swap the bolt carrier, recoil spring assembly, and internal charging handle sled. This is because the standard CETME L houses its long recoil spring inside the hollow plastic buttstock, whereas the CETME LC collapsing stock requires a shortened recoil spring moved into the upper receiver above a modified bolt carrier. From this NIB CETME L: Attached File To this CETME LC tribute gun: Attached File Attached File Only negative is sliding the stock in and out is extremely stiff. I’m sure it will work in eventually. As a bonus I’ll probably keep the parts kit and maybe build a complete gun someday. |

| Anyone change the LC buffer spring yet? I don't have a tool for the four hole screw cap on the LCs stock and curious if anyone else has changed theirs and what they used. I have changed all the factory springs on my kit already except for the stock buffer spring. |
| Basically, the cap is held on with some kind of Loctite. Heat it up just enough to loosen the thread locker but not too much. Then wrench it off counter clockwise with a set of split ring pliers or vice grips. apparently the spring isn't under pressure once you get the cap halfway unscrewed so that makes taking it apart without loosing the spring and installing the new one pretty simple. |
| Has anyone shot their L after adding the LC parts from a kit? The "Gen 2" L bolt carriers had relief cuts in the bottom, since the magazines apparently sit slightly higher. Curious how the rifles will run with the LC carriers without the clearance cuts, before I take the Dremel to one of my kit's carriers. I'm just waiting for a new LC recoil spring from centerfire before I do the swap. |
