Anybody recognize these? I’ve bought a couple surplus loadbearing bits over the last 30 years. Never actually used them yet. From Varusteleka I think. I’ve searched all over for these but cannot find them. I assume they are military surplus because I seldom spend much on stuff like this. They may not be milsurp because the straps have a very reflective, plasticizer sheen. The metal snap clips have a shine as well. The plastic hardware is Fastex. They’re kind of a foliage, sage or ranger green. Inside is a soft weave, like a tan moleskin. I’d like to see the belt they come with. Kind of a modernized alice thing. Attached File Attached File |

italian army. the belt is either a copy of the alice belt with plastic eyelets and the green 1981 type plastic buckle or the newer one had fastex buckles with the push button safety not unlike law enforcement bianchi belts. mag pouches are alice type with fastex buckles closure or 3 mag pouches with velcro closure and no grenade side pouches with a mag elevator strap inside. There were also IFAK style pouches and us style buttpacks, but no canteen covers that i can remember. Also m12 style holsters. Also made in Tan color.  However we often wore true US Alice surplus (either italian contract US made alice or pure surplus, sometime overstamped). |

That is awesome! Thank you and thanks for the picture. I’ll keep an eye out for the proper belt and maybe some vegetato pants to go along with it. I have this and it almost matches, but only fits compact single stack pistols. The Spanish Star BM 9mm is a very snug fit. OK, maybe this belt/holster doesn’t go along with it much but it’s also Italian and well made. It needs to be used. Attached File Grazie davvero! |

That belt kit you have there Is a full belt kit of the Italian National Police Mobile Detachment, that are a rapido employment force used for public order duties (like riot control) and emergency Response. These rigs were used up to 1990 and the holster is for a Beretta 1951. Color Is more of a Grey/Green than OD. |

That’s good info to have. Thanks again. One of these days I may pick up a smaller Beretta 380 for it. I have a full size which is wonderful to shoot, but the grip is a little large for my wife and girls. I’m grateful towards Italy for selling the new old holsters. I got a couple of the leather, fully enclosed examples and one clearly has the invention of a Beretta slide on it. I don’t have anything for them at the moment but they were just a few bucks for quality gear. I’ll try to find a nice home for them eventually. The next Beretta, I get will hopefully be one of the new 32s with threaded muzzle. Tomcat or whatever. Italian guns are wonderful as well. I hope to collect a few more. |
