In our first episode of our Flash Suppression Series, we showcase the SureFire RC2, demonstrating its IR-spectrum flash performance across multiple 5.56 barrel lengths while controlling variables like ammo type, suppressor cooldown, and camera perspectives. Thank you for the feedback, we have not planned that yet as we are currently experimenting with our test setup to ensure we are capturing the flash accurately within our financial means. Do you have any suggestions? Our current plan is to keep all variables the same with an exception to the suppressors and muzzle devices so if someone is between two cans and flash is a priority for them, they are able to refer to this series. Each release is every other Sunday, next Sunday will be the Surefire RC2 Mini. |

Good work. I would like to see these tests done with a 10.3 instead of 11.5 just to see a "worst case" flash scenario compared to the longer barrel lengths. As for suppressors, I am interested in the new RC4 when it's available, the B&T Print-XH (with Surefire SOCOM HUB mount to keep it apples to apples), and the KAC QDC/CRS-2 when it's available. Would also be great to get a quick "weigh-in" comparison before the tests are done by putting both the suppressor and any corresponding QD HUB mount on a scale and showing us the read-out on camera. Better yet, include the brake/FH on the scale as well so we can get the actual total system weight addition to the rifle. A lot of us out there don't care about pure sound suppression and are more interested in other attributes like flash suppression, weight, back pressure reduction, build quality, etc. The more of this you can include in a single video, the more helpful it is to the viewer. Doing some controlled strings of shots instead of just slow fire might be useful as well. I always wonder if it's pure luck or what when you get 1 really flashy shot and then 2 or 3 in a row of great suppression. Doing a steady string of like 5 or 10 shots in relatively quick succession could be a way to look at flash suppression in a more realistic scenario. Finally, results with 62gr green tips and 77gr OTM would be more relevant to my black rifle interests. Thank you for doing this! |
