| Found my old GSG-522 in the back of the safe. Forgot how much I liked this thing. I never did get around to chopping the barrel back for suppressor use though. Is there any reason I couldn't make an adapter that threads into the front of the triple tree and centers the barrel up and is threaded 1/2"-28 on the end? Seems like this would be the easiest way to get threads for it. But I thought maybe not actually being attached to the barrel might not be good either. What are your thoughts? Maybe I'll just make a functional suppressor that takes the place of the fake one. |

That's exactly how the suppressor adapters were made. ATI & I believe Gem Tech? both made these types of adapters. Unfortunately they've both been out of production for 5 years at least & kinda of a unicorn item for the Gsg522. I talked to 2 local machine shops about making a few copies of the 1 I have but neither where interested, unless I order 500+. I know I could sell a few but not that many. |

That would be cool, I'm also a GSG5 owner that has thought about chopping and suppressing it. I've thought about seeing how I could just mount my Sparrow inside the Fake Can. (I also have a Scorpion with the fake can. Same thing, keep thinking about it, have yet to get serious enough about it) |

I came up with this over the last week for my GSG5P. It’s an adapter, then I screwed on a 3lug. I’ll be ordering the 3 lug with the 1/2-28 on the end. I got excited and ordered the one without the threads. Well I just realized I don’t know how to post pictures…. |

Here is what I did. A member here was kind enough to send me a sample from a previous manufacturer, so I pretty much copied the existing design with some slight changes to make it quicker to manufacture. Once the proper form 1 was in hand, I cut the barrel back to 0.865”, measured from the edge of the triple tree to the end of the barrel. This let the barrel interfere correctly with the taper in the bottom of the hole. Once I received these back from nitride I installed one, and my daughters and I put several hundred rounds through it and my sparrow with no problems.
