| I have a Steyr Aug from a while back made by Sabre and it has the small offset picattiny rail on the right side. I wanted to put an unused RMR there but when doing so, the sight is far too low to see the dot. I don’t want back up iron sights in the top rail because that real estate is taken up by thermals. What are you guys using on that small rail? And what the proper sized mount height to be able to see the dot? |
| I have two AUGs. One I removed that rail, the other has an Inforce WML light on it. I never ever considered putting an optic on it as I'm right handed and turning the gun 45 degrees into myself to use that rail for optics means the ejection port is pointing at my face. Plus it could just be me, but I'd think you'd need a pretty crazy offset to mount an optic on that accessory rail... which would mean you'd have an optic sticking out at a weird angle. |
