I just got a 300bo barrel for my Steyr and plan to shoot the 220 grain subsonic Atomic brand ammo through it. Will this damage my rifle? Anybody tried shooting 300 suppressed? Any tips about the gas plug setting? Thanks |

I shoot mine suppressed. Why would you think it could be damaged by suppressing? The pamphlet that arrives with the barrel thoroughly explains gas regulator settings - everyone’s gun could be different based on your gun, can, and ammo. Read the pamphlet and adjust accordingly. Congrats on the new barrel! |

But I don’t have any, just subsonic |

But I don’t have any, just subsonic Tag for info because I don't see how that would be possible. The gas plugs have an "off" setting which presumably would render the highest chamber pressure. Running wide open on the adverse setting through a clean gun would probably just cycle the bolt harder than need be and maybe prematurely wear it but I can't imagine it blowing up. Genuinely interested to hear about this since I plan on ordering a 300BLK barrel for one of my AUGs to run suppressed somewhat soon. |

Most likely that is for legal protection and emphasis of it being "really bad" to do that in case someone puts it on LV, or is tempted to put it on LV, while shooting supersonic 300 BO.
