Does anyone have access to that info? There is a thread on the CMP forum where members request firearms information. You submit your SN and you can cross-check it to see if there are any hits in the system. It can help track down the history of the firearm. It's really neat. I have the electronic version but according to a few of the people over there, it is missing info. I asked what information was missing but I never received an answer. So back to my original question, doesn't anyone have access to the info? I am more than happy to cross-check SN's to what I have but there is a potential some info is missing. Ex. a few excerpts. To be honest..... I'm not sure what you are asking here......... -You are willing to take serials posted here and put them into the CMP thread? -You are looking for someone here with the Books to look and see how it differs from your on-line version? Or you want to start the same type thread here, using your SRS copies? |

I just re read what I wrote. I did it in haste yesterday so hopefully this clears it up. The cmp thread is so slow its not even worth posting in it. While it provides their members some solid info, some of our members are not members over there and don't have access to the thread. Does anyone here have the books and are they willing to help our members look up numbers? I have the electronic version and I am willing to look stuff up but I have been told, but never shown, that there may be missing data. |

There must have been a shipment stolen from the Montana NG. There are close to 26 1903's listed as stolen on the list. 16044 121835MONTANA NG (STOLEN) There is also a bunch of these that pop-up. I wonder if they are part of the stolen rifles? Sorry I only saw this just now. I have the four books, which includes the 1999 edition of vol. 4. Regarding the differences between the electronic info and books, this is the explanation given over at the CMP: http://forums.thecmp.org/showpost.php?p=1708617&postcount=1834 Happy to look up some guns as time allows. In return, might I ask a favor from the hive? I'm on the hunt for an SRS hit trapdoor 1884 cadet rifle between 565,354 and 566,699, as a bunch of those were issued to my alma mater, the Baylor Cadets. I've run across several within that range, but haven't found an actual direct hit yet for sale, and with the SRS a miss is as good as a mile - even worse, given my understanding of the way the records were made. But a heads up on anything within that range would be tremendously appreciated! |

Very early Springfield, was reimported at some point in the mid 80"s by "Blue Sky" Arlington Va. No clue where it was reimported from. Any info you can find would be greatly appreciated. I have found conflicting info with some indicating it may have originally been a Gas Trap gun. #21395 |
