| I just got a single shot break action Special 12ga and looking to replace the stock because it's cracked. Anybody know if if h and r would fit? Or similar stocks would work? |

Found some information here at this link: Fyrberg See post #15. Talks about a company named “Andrew Fyrberg & Co.”. The last paragraph of that post states; “Fyrberg tradename guns include Special, Armory Gun Co., Empire State Arms, National Arms Co., Traveler, Star Brand, Glenwood, Chicago Arms Co., and New England Fire Arms Co.” |

It looks a little different than my NEF/H&R stocks. If it was my gun, I'd try swapping one of my stocks on to it. But since you probably don't have any, I might roll the dice on this, just to get an idea. Midway USA Choate Stock If it fits decent, you can look into Boyd's if you want wood. |

Op, that stock profile at the receiver doesn’t look like any of my H&R/NEF single-shot shotguns. There is always the possibility that buttplate was a replacement fitted to the stock at some time, maybe along with the other repair. I too believe you will have much better luck repairing the stock you have than finding a replacement. That being said, if it were mine, I wouldn’t spend too much time nor money trying to fix or replace that buttstock at all. That gun may or may not be safe to fire but it is never going to be more than what it is now. I’ve literally got a barrel of old, cheap, “branded” single-shot and SxS junk shotguns that are worth almost nothing. My $0.02; clean it up a little bit (not too much) and hang it on the wall or turn it into a lamp. Spend your money on something else. It’s just not worth saving but by all means practice some repair and restoration techniques on it, if you want to learn. |

| I'm thinkin I just might keep it as a wall hanger and leave it alone has alot of character with the tape all over it. It has a 30" barrel. I'm just curious as to how the spread is with birdshot. But hard to aim with no front sight. |
