I have heard this can used, picked it up, frankly for a $200 can, it's pretty neat. It's really light, even in full configuration. Since you can add and remove baffles, I have heard it shot with two Skarvs attached to each other on a bolt gun, super quiet and this was shot indoors.

I have also heard it fired on a TX-22 with an FRT indoors, sounded good.  The store had them in stock and I really thought about one, not sure, still might bite.

Pretty neat and for $200, I don't think you can go wrong with one.

My wife and I put 300 rounds through mine, on a Kel-Tec P17. It’s a nice little can. The only issue we had was some of sections loosened up.

just picked one of these up yesterday.

taking it to the range later today to check it out.

Will be shooting it on a FN 502T and comparing it against a Thompson Machine Poseidon wet supressor with wipes.  While I dont expect it to perform to the same level as the Poseidon when in wet configuration, i will be comparing it to the P when in dry configuaration.   Will try the Skarv in different baffle length combos to see which combo best replicates the P.

will report back later.  No decible meter will be used since my results always get f'd due to the other shooters in the indoor range.

Thanks, I've been looking to outfit a few 22s. For the weight and price they are hard to beat.

The closest competitor in cost is the Hi Point but it's almost 5oz, Jessies Girl but $329 (still a good price for a great can, I have one), Aneohic Pipsqueek 1.5oz!  $295 , JK Armarment $308, modular 1.1-3.6 oz.; ECCO has several, and of course the bigger names but now we're bumping $400.

I'd don't want to call it a race to the bottom as we need to keep our mfg's, but a small, light, 22 can could be like a starter car to get you into the brand.

My thoughts are you can chase diminishing returns on a 22 can. they are all quiet, some just more so than others.

Well, this thing is impressive to say the least.

Gun - FN 502 Tactical
Sight - Osight SE enclosed green dot
Indoor Range - 10yds
Ammunition used - CC Standard Velocity 1050fps hollow points and round nose.  I also tried some CCI Quiet-22 710fps.

Started with my P in dry config to remind my ears what it sounded like (10rds).

Next went to the Skarv (10 rounds ea. config);

4 baffle - slightly louder than the P
5 baffle - no discernable difference
6 baffle - pleasant sound, maybe the same as the P in dry config
7 baffle - sounded like the 6, maybe
8 baffle - stupid quiet, maybe close to the P when wet.

I am really going to have to bust out the db meter and do this again.  I will just have to goto a range further away where i can shoot with no other shooters around to get good readings.

Now, some observations.  The S in any baffle configuration is way less gassy than the P when its wet, yet still hase enough back pressure to eject the casings with force.  Very nice to shoot because of this.  The standard velocity stuff cycled just fine, the quiet-22 would not cycle at all (to be fair, it only cycles in the P the first 2-3 shots before a hole is big enough in the wipes to prevent it from cycling further).  The rounds shifted about 1" right and 1" high with the Skarv mounted.  Impacts did not change with the addition of more baffles.

Skarv weight and length

4 baffles - 1.886oz - 3.099"
5 baffles - 2.143oz - 3.570"
6 baffles - 2.401oz - 4.041"
7 baffles - 2.659oz - 4.512"
8 baffles - 2.917oz -  4.983"

For comparison, the P (with wipes and dry) is 4.157oz and 4.210"

I will update this later with a db reading for each of those configurations above, along with a baseline unsuppressed and the P in both wet and dry configs.

My feeling right now, the 6 baffle might be a sweet spot.

Just got back from the range with mine.  For the $240 out the door, I'm extremely impressed.  It had a little higher tone than my sparrow, but was possibly quieter.  Only complaint is that I have 2-3 baffles that are stuck together and I can't get unthreaded.  I'm going to soak them in some hot water and see if that loosens them up, as shooting on a bolt action didn't exactly heat the can up.

As a whole, I think I'm going to buy a few more of these.

db results

Same pistol, same ammo as listed above, 10rds each test (averaged each category below).
Measurements taken at the shooters ear

Control - No suppressor
85.7 db

Poseidon - Wet (new wipes)
58.4 db

Poseidon - Dry (new wipes)
64.8 db

Skarv
4 baffles - 81.9 db

5 baffles - 77.5 db

6 baffles - 78.2 db

7 baffles - 74.1 db

8 baffles - 70.2 db

Honestly, the results shocked me a bit.  I thought for sure the can was quieter than that.  Maybe my electronic muffs were distorting the sound when I did the first test (ears), but the meter (hopefully) doesnt lie.  It was odd that the 6 baffles increased sound a bit, but that could be the results of a slight variation in ammo(?).  The Poseidon was much quieter than I thought it was too.

I had the same issue at first.  cleaned it up and applied a copper anti-seize (that was safe for aluminum) and it has been a non-issue since.

That’s my plan once I get it apart might buy a cheap strap wrench at Walmart if hot water doesn’t do it.

Edit: got it apart and lubed up.

Thanks for the review. I have one that Brownells shipped last week. Now have to wait for the Form 4 to be approved.

Brownell's has these down to $150 with military discount. Seems to be the cheapest I've found, when in stock. Not sure of any other 22lr cans this cheap.

I was looking at the Wise Arms Whisper at 3.5oz at $200 then the Skarva came into the shop last week.  At 3 oz and ability to take apart for cleaning sold me. Bought it Friday and hopefully will get approved shortly. Have three threaded guns to try it on all Rugers

Me and my son put 100 rnds of CCI subs through ours yesterday.
I took it apart when I 1st got it and just went nuts with the NAPA never seize.

It's a OK can, cost me 210 after transfer.
It's not Full auto or FRT rated and I am fine with that.
I have a SWR Spectre for the full auto 22 and the TX22
The sonicore is not as quit as the Spectre either.
But 200 bux what do ya expect.
I also had a issue getting two baffle stacks apart brand new.
That was another reason for the never sieze.
Also being non dipable since its aluminum is yet another reason for never sieze makes clean up a bit easier.
For what it is it's ok I only plan to use it on a bolt gun and it lives on the P22 on the back porch.
I'd buy another just not right now.
Pretty sure these are meant to be disposable due to the lack of any real  blast baffle, blast chamber, and how thin the tubing wall is.
It's a delicate can for sure.
You can and should rotate the baffles.
It is going to erode the 1st baffle fast if you don't rotate it every so many rounds.

Lifetime warranty so long as you can prove you didn't abuse it.  It's probably why the serial is on the threaded endcap.

As others have said great economical.22 can for backyard fun. Not the quietist but can’t be beat for the price. This is my first personal can, as all others were uncles

Heavy grain of salt on this, but I should have a cheap db meter showing up soon. It’s only up to 130db, but I’ll post some numbers once it arrives.

I don't see that happening no matter how many new budget cans hit the market.  There's a place for them, but most of us who've been doing this a minute aren't interested in chasing the bottom end of the market beyond maybe adding a model or two as capacity allows.

I've been wanting for a long time to get our little 7075-T6511 monocore critter with a thin wall Ti tube going (Lynx model), but a sub-$200 can wasn't very viable until this year.  If I can get our new guy where I need him, maybe I'll have the bandwidth for that.

But anyway, the .22 can market is basically split into two categories: cost effective .22 LR only stuff that's often aluminum, and higher end 17-4 & titanium critters that also perform well with .22 WMR/.17 HMR, many of which can take 5.7x28, .22 Hornet, .22 TCM to boot.    Plenty of market space for both, basically zero people who get into suppressed shooting stop at just 2 or 3 cans.  IME, once all the hosts have dedicated cans, a number of folks will start shopping new host weapons just to have something for another suppressor model they want to add.
Suppress all the things!

@ECCO_machine if you guys made a $200 rimfire suppressor I would buy 2-3 of them today.

So my db meter is likely garbage, not that I expected much from a cheap one.  Massive grain of salt on these numbers, especially since it was saying ~123db for people shooting ARs 5-6 benches down.

It reported an average of 83.65db for the Skarv out of a 16" Volquartsen Summit toggle action and CCI Quiet Subsonic 22, and 78.5db for the same with my Sparrow, with the meter 2" left of the muzzle.

81.6 reported (average) with a bolt action 9mm shooting 147gr S&B subsonic.  (just for comparison)

@ECCO_achine I second the above statement.   I like your idea of the Lynx 22 can, light, cost effective, 22 only (don't need .17/5.7)  I already have a few of your cans and many mounts etc...  I would absolutely support this endeavor and also it would be a good way to get your product into the hands of buyers creating future sales of larger cans.
