Normally shoot my 930 but buddy runs a pump. I'm pretty good with a pump, grew up with 835's and I'm smoothing one out to run pump with him. Only issue is with the open loading port like all mossberg pumps there is no ramped lifter to make double and quad loading easy. I worked over my 930 and had it good to go. So far on the 835 I've beveled the loading port and blended the mag tube entry. Next is beveling the lifter. Not getting crazy with it just want easier speed loading. Considered printing or machining a ramped 2.75 shell filler, similar to the mini shell adapters. Any suggestions? Almost seems like an opportunity for a competition style ramped lifter. |

835 is a bit much, (bigger frame & barrel sized for the honking 3.5" magnum) but go with whatever works for you. I found a used Maverick 88 trade in for an inexpensive blaster. It's not a state of the art autoloader, but it gets the job done. If you haven't replaced the tang safety botton with a metal one, that would be the first thing to do. The plastic safety buttons are known to crack in half over time & use. Bigger_Hammer  |

Bigger_Hammer It's just what I've got multiples of, with chokes and all. Fits me like riding a bike. Used them for everything from doves to rabbits to geese to turkeys. The overbore patterns better than other bird guns with every kind of load in my experience. Local shop has a cheap Thunder Ranch 590 that was tempting me but stock is short and it's a cylinder barrel. |

Gonna sponge camo it then maybe toss it down the driveway. Considering porting the barrel like my longer goose gun before painting it. Attached File |
