I currently have one 9mm suppressor, an AAC TiRant 9M HD. It’s configurable between 5.8”, 9.2 oz and 8”, 11.3 oz. It’s a fantastic suppressor but it pretty much lives in its full length configuration on my home defense pistol, a Glock 47 MOS with X300U and RMR. I’m thinking about getting a smaller, lightweight can to carry for travel to use on my EDC Glock 19 MOS with XC3 and RMR. Anyone have personal experience with either or both? How much louder is the K? Which do you prefer if you’ve used both? |

Likewise the short mode of the Fly 9 should be very similar to the 9K. Have the Spectre 9 and Omega 9K which perform identical, however the Spectre 9 is thinner and so much lighter. Spectre 9 - That first round is going to be boomy but not ring your ears, at least outdoors. Subsequent sound considerably better. Fly 9 Short (Spectre 9K) - Takes the bite off but is not quiet. Louder than that FRP and the subsequent shots are still loud. I'd highly recommend the Spectre 9. It's not very long and is so light. Yes it has FRP, but it sounds incredibly good after that. Given the size, feather weight, and performance after the FRP, the FRP is a worthy trade. Will not cycle direct thread on the G47, but can on a G43X dependent on ammo. Direct thread at 4 ounces, quite a bit shorter, and the sound performance after FRP is why the Spectre 9 is my favorite 9mm can. That being said, since you are going to need a booster anyways for the G47, you may want to consider the CAT Street Crack, either in the short mode or the short only as with booster that ends up same weight and is almost just as short. But where as the Spectre 9 has a lot of back pressure, reportedly the CAT has next to none. I should have my hands on one soon. |

| Thanks for the review on the Spectre9/9k. Have a 9k on backorder, looking forward to putting it through its paces. Picked the 9k as a dedicated one for a PCC I've been working on. Not particularly worried about the FRP, most suppressors have that unless you run them wet. Somewhere's around here I have a can of foam stuff that's pretty effective. Messy, doesn't last that long, but it quiets things considerably. JK Armament recommends Vaseline. I have several models of theirs; interesting design and the Vaseline also aids in easy cleanup. No first round pop when you grease the thing like a roast pig, but probably not easy to use in a sealed supp, LOL. |

I’ve got a lot of 9mm cans. I’ve got TBAC Ti Fly9, ECCO Ti K9 etc in the short K Ti variety. The idea of a K can is fun until you shoot it a lot. It’s more of a novelty or a specific use-case for transport and concealment, just to take the edge off. Lightweight Ti full-size (like the Spectre9, Fly9 Long mode, some of ECCO’s offerings) + subsonics is where it’s at. Some Ti can + pistol combos don’t even require a booster - just direct thread (or EZ-LOK) which is insane, lightweight and fun. My VP9s do this all day long. ECCO makes great solutions for this and it really depends whether your host will behave. Short K stuff compromises. Everything in silencers is a compromise. Nothing magical about it. |
