| I bought a Shrike way back in the day and had endless problems. I have a friend who has had better luck (Gen 5 I believe). Any idea what the differences are in the multiple generations? How reliable are they now? |
| Mine has run flawlessly. Just use lots of CLP like any other beltfed. I don't have any experience with the older ones but I'd trust my life to mine. |

Mine runs like a raped ape. I have had it since 2018, and about 10k down range. When I first got it, it was more finicky, and the was binding a bit, especially on new links After about 1k rounds, and a bunch of LSA, it is fine. That is not uncommon for belt fed weapons. |

Ares ran out SAW trays for sometime and shipped out aluminum trays that a lot of people complained about. They later made them from steel and I don't think you hear about complaints from those. |

I've got an early Shrike. It runs fine, but the ROF is up and down. If you watch the video above, that one does the same thing. You can hear it, when it hits a stiff link and slows down for one shot. That makes it difficult to hold on target for off-hand shooting. It really needs a redesign, allowing the bolt's rearward stroke to over-travel the case head much further.....like an AK. The BCG needs a longer head start, before it smacks into the case head during feeding. Tony |

| The spacer just allows you to use the A2 style stock while aping the CAR style. I don't like the term "stretching" links. I prefer "conditioning". With as much variation to the links and the variables that go along with "used", conditioning them makes sense to me. To achieve the slower ROF, I use a cut down MG34 spring or SR25 and the Colt hydraulic buffer or the old AAC Slow Fire buffer. Have not used the PACT yet to get numbers. |
