Hey gents, I'm in the market for my first suppressor and am a bit overwhelmed at the varying information I've found online, guntuber reviews, et cetera. Here is my use case. -5.56 (M193/M855) -Three uppers: an 18" mid-length, a 14.5" mid-length SBR, and I'm thinking I'll do an 11.5" or 12.5" SBR, most likely carbine gas system. -Minimal backpressure is a high priority. -Durability and longevity is a high priority. -Minimal flash, no worse than an A2 birdcage, at least. -Of course, I want as much noise reduction as possible. The can has to be up to heavy use. I ordered a three-position FRT, but I don't plan to do mag dump after mag dump. I am trying to build a functional latter day minuteman setup. I don't anticipate shelling out for multiple suppressors, and I want to be able to trust my life to whatever I get. I have thought about doing the 11.5/12.5" SBR with a mid-length gas system and adjustable gas block, but I'm not sure how much tuning would be required to get a reliable setup, or if the juice is even worth the squeeze! I've been looking at the Rhodie 6 and 6K/J, and the Stealth Additive Works Tisha. I've heard that the Tisha doesn't perform as well on longer barrels. Any others I should take a look at? Thanks for your time and advice. |

What's your argument for it? I'm leaning Rhodie 6K/J at the moment. Sounds like the Tisha doesn't perform as well on less gassy systems. |

I have a regular Dual-Lok 5 that I use on a LWRC 10.5 and I think it sounds fantastic and very little to no gtf. Everything I read about those 2 suppressors says they are better than my Dual-Lok 5. |

They are better in suppression with lower pressure, albeit heavier on account of being made of nickel superalloy- so the original Dual Lok 5 still has a category (light weight). The Optimus 6AM is a really performing can also, that outperforms them (sound/flash/backpressure reduction) despite being 6 ARC bored, which hurts performance a little in 5.56mm. The 6AM is larger volume, and a little heavier at 18 ounces in Dual Lok. |

Rather than starting a new thread, I’m in the same boat. Sig Spear LT 11.5” 5.56. These three I’m looking hard at: Rhodie 6k Tisha inconel or ti Flow 556 ti The spear is already a front heavy bitch, so probably something lighter….but then I contradict myself with wanting something built to last. Rabbit holes my friends,…I go down them deep. Feedback appreciated to help me narrow down, thanks |

OCL Infinity 556K meets all your needs. Indestructible. Relatively light. Changeable end caps for simple tuning on different hosts. Very low backpressure. Good sound performance. You could certainly find better performers but given that you're looking to share this on a 14.5 and even an 18" occasionally, a full length can would just feel like a musket. A compact "K" can will serve you better. The Rhodie 6k would also be a good choice. The 6J is cool but it will likely take you a long time to get your hands on one. Super limited production. |

I've written about it in other posts in this forum. It is a very good compromise specifically for the MCX. It weighs ~8oz. There's nothing else that light which can withstand multiple SURG cycles and has no issue at all with FRT/full auto usage, thanks to the inconel blast baffle pinned into a titanium suppressor. Very innovative. Yes, the company has had some issues recently, but it **appears** that they are mostly through them and working very hard to resume their QC capacity to pre-lawsuit levels. Side note: you also will definitely want the Omega Valve from JB Designs. It totally transforms the MCX platform for the better when using ANY suppressor. |

Rabbit holes my friends,…I go down them deep. Feedback appreciated to help me narrow down, thanks I just went though similar decisions and ended up ordering a Griffin Armament HRT-556 AM HUB. Bang for the buck is undeniable, and it should last forever. It may not be as quiet as some of the others, but it is very low gas and has a deep tone according to Silencer Analytics and others. I am hoping to have it in my hands next week so I can compare it to my other low backpressure cans; I am expecting it to be louder than my Rhino S but with less backpressure. If it is louder than my BT5 or Velos I won't be happy, but I am not expecting that to be the case. |

The OCL Infinity 556k is nice can and performs nicely on my BCM 14.5. I swap it around on my DD 10.3 and will get a little bit of gas stacking on the 10.3 during rapid fire. Now where near the old YHM Turbo I had on the 10.3 before. Sound suppression is very good with middle end cap and just use foam inserts mostly. I'd buy another if I don't pic up a rhodie 6k ti , which would go on my 14.5 and move the OCL to the 10.3 as it's built to take the abuse. |

Then you add in the Optimus 6 as being better yet,(better then all mentioned?) but being 6ARC board hurts its performance on 556? I’m not trying to start an argument or anything of the sorts, just confused as to what your saying/which suppressors your talking about…I’ve been looking hot and heavy at the dual lok5am as well as the hrt5am and Optimus 6am for 556, so any insight/info is greatly appreciated! Either way is gonna be at least one of them! |

I was about to recommend the OCL Infinity 556 due to the various hosts and ability to tune. I bought an Infinity 762 so it can pull double duty on some of my .30 cal options, while also giving me the ability to tune for low backpressure vs. lower sound signature, and I’m pleased. But the Infinity 5.56 sounds right up OP’s alley. |
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Either way is gonna be at least one of them! In some stupid mixup my talo rep who bought these cans without authorization, didn’t buy the tisha, so I don’t have one. He and a guy from marketing were discussing the tisha rhodie and exigent fireteam but the tisha wasn’t purchased. I have been very busy with suppressor design. I fired 6 rds through the rhodie and exigent fireteam 556. I have tested neither can on metrology as that takes time too- so it was like late in the day I shot a couple rounds with ear protection, one without, and watched ejection patterns. From hearing them the exigent is not better but is not a gas trap so thats in its favor. The exigent kind of rang my ears on one round which is similar to crs-prt gen 1 and surefire RC3. I can’t remember exigent gas pressure behavior as the ringing ears kind of stole the spotlight. The rhodie is in the ballpark for sound albeit a 5.56 bored 1.75” diameter can advertised as 6 arc- a gas trap design due to the .04” holes and .028 cross section slots, and it gets loose on hub in like 3 rds which is unusual for hub cans. I shot it hub dual lok on ez brake, three with ear protection, two in ejection port side, and one without ear protection right handed. Ejection was 1:30-3 oclock on our 12.5 that ejects 4:30-5 oclock. The two three round strings popped rhodie 6 hub loose from hand snug, which doesn’t usually happen. I shoot a lot of hub cans hand snug five rounds and they usually stay hand snug. I have maybe 8 suppressors from my own line that are untested so I have a lot of shit stacked against me in terms of getting to that metrology work. The rhodie smells even like it traps gas- after 6 rounds, a week later I pulled it out of the box to show the marketing guy the interest came from and the can reeked of fouling, like we had just fired it. A really weird phenomenon. My time is between like AR’s (managing some development projects), developing a couple cans, doing infrastructure stuff on a laser engraving department, working to debug a laser welder (like manufacturing cover lens adapters to try different cover lenses than the laser was sold with is the current step), trying to find exotic bar stock at reasonable prices for high pressure bolts and extensions, and a few other things. I have 4 prototype 30 cal cans being machined today, and between welding and those cans being evaluated, and looking for crazy rare bar stock at reasonable prices- my week is probably screwed. |

@Green0 Appreciate the reply, and appreciate all the work your putting in, shows in the end products. Hate to ask more, but just saw the Optimus AM release email, curious from what you have seen, how does it stack up compared to the hrt5am and dual lok 5am in terms of over sound(quieter/louder) and back pressure/gas strictly on 556? |

Its quieter according to them with less flash. Its also heavier and much thiccc-er |

Before deciding read up on the warranty. I would recommend getting a flow through or low back pressure itll make all the difference. You loose a few DBs but not enough to notice. I have 3 556 cans. Yhm R9 multical Yhm Phantom 556 Liberty machine duty 556. In hindsight, I wish I would have gotten the tisha or huxwrk ti 556. There's so much quieter than the ones I have. And the hux being a flow through it's really nice. |

They sound pretty similar to me inside, but I didn’t really shoot them back to back. Metrology says the Optimus 6 AM is more quiet muzzle and I believe similar ear, but average sound is lower (leq leaq). The flash is lower and the pressure is lower. I think the difference would have been a little more obvious if the 6 didn’t have a larger 6 arc bore, but again I didn’t shoot them back to back for instant comparison and indoor is a little less than perfect for comparison than outside. I haven’t really been shooting outside much as I’ve been working pretty constantly for the last year and the range at work is indoor. I finished testing the HRT7 and 30SDK AM cans today. They worked out pretty well. Originally Posted By arf-fan: @Green0 Any plans to make barrels with Q taper? I don’t have any plans. Sounds like particularly bad luck with a competitors can, haven't seen the loosening or "gas trap" issues with my fill sized Rhodie Ti. Comparing it with my CAT Noah, to my ear it's both a little quieter and it's lower backpressure on my shorty 6 ARC and 5.56, it definitely doesn't trap gas in the way that traditional cans do. The only downside I've seen to it is with the bypass channels on the outside circumference, it gets hot faster than other cans I have. I pretty much always use a cover of some kind when I'll be taking more than a few shots, so it doesn't matter too be, but could to some I suppose. |

I’m sure installing it with tools can probably get around that loosening thing, i’m just saying if I shoot ten brands of 1.375 hub cans hand snug for 5-7 rounds, and the only one breaking loose at 3rds twice is that one, something isn’t the same as the others. Its cool I’m not the only one seeing the tiny 90 degree, covered and inaccessible holes that are all that allow that outer helix to functionally work. I just gave my honest feedback and that included that I thought that it sounded good. |

The only one I have experience with, we used Rocksett to keep from backing off. |

I swap mounts all the time and have never had a hub mount loosen when I havent wanted it to. Make sure the threads are clean and take it to 35 foot pounds. It truly isnt rocket science. |

The next time we used two strap wrenches. Its a YHM Turbo K and I forgot what hub was used. Not my can. |
