Some of us still prefer a solid quad rail over mlok, it looks like I may have gotten the last Midwest Industries quad extention. Scar with mi quad rail Are any companies out there besides pmm still doing quads for the scar? I like the Midwest quad I have but the aluminum front yoke causes me problems whenever I take the gun apart, they use helicoils for the front barrel screws, which they list torque at 45 inch lbs... every time I have tried to achieve that it has pulled the helicoils out. I have recoiled the yoke several times, once I started torquing those screws to 30 inch lbs, it stopped being an issue. 30inch lbs is what pmm uses for their front extentions, I believe they use helicoils as well. I would rather have a steel yoke with the same dimensions as the Midwest aluminum yoke, so I could not risk messing it up each time. I never had an issue with the factory steel yoke, the screws can be torqued to 62inch pounds for that one. Anyway that is today ramble |
