My brother in law asked me to look at an old Western Field Model 14 .410 shotgun. The bolt does not work at all. Taking it apart, I saw the safety pawl, safety pawl spring and pin are gone. I have the parts on order from Numrich. Question is, does anyone have one of these old .410's and can take a pic of the safety pawl installed in the bolt body as to have a frame of reference as to what it looks like assembled? I assume it sticks up from the bolt body a small amount then is recessed into the bolt upon closing the bolt. Any help is appreciated. Can't find any good source material on the Western Field Model 14. Cross reference shows it is the same as the Savage 39A |
