| Im needing to grab a safe for up to about 15 long guns and about 10 sbr/subguns. Im wanting to eventually get a gun room with vault door but in the meantime Id like to get something to hold my firearms and suppressors. Should I just get something cheaper around 700 to 1k mark or look around 2k+? I saw steel water is roomy for price but is Chinese compared to drake, fort knox, etc. |

check out used safes in your area. I got a $9k 5 year old TL-30 safe for $3k delivered I paid another $500 to have it moved and a new lock put on it |

A third + for the used safe market! If you don't want to spend for a new TL30x6 look for a used large Jewelry store safe for sale on CL or FB marketplace & retrofit a gun holding interior. There are usually a few for sale, only problem is moving it, IMO its better to pay a pro safe mover that has the tools & experience to do it. The residential Security cabinets most safe mfg sell are only a cordless Harbor Freight grinder away from all your stuff being stolen. |

Craigslist and FB marketplace. Don’t reply to the FB add for a $500 new Liberty, because there is a serious bunch of scammers wanting to hold it for a deposit. And they all use the same photo. But you can get some serious good deals on a decent safe. If the vault room is coming soon, and you have to buy new in the meantime, I would get a cheap one that isn’t too heavy so you can sell it off when you get the vault done. But I would 100% always buy a used Fort Knox or Liberty over a new import if possible. Easy to change combos or swap out the lock. |

There is a surprising amount of real deal "safes" that are available for essentially nothing if you have enough feelers out there. All you have to do is move them yourself. Our family scored three TL-15s and one TL-30 in the last four years just by paying attention. LOL, we even bent a landscape trailer moving the TL-30.
