| Curious what people have found as the best ammo to run in their 14.5” 6.5 guns? Factory ammo only, please…I’m not looking to do my own loads. |
| Of all the possible full size 6.5 cartridges (260 Rem, 6.5x46, 6.5 Creedmoor, and many other less popular ones) the 6.5 Creedmoor would be the most popular and be easiest to find good factory ammo for. Plus if you ever do decide to start loading your own, the recipe for some Creedmoor cartridges is on the box so they would be easy to duplicate. |
| For killing stuff i would go with the Nosler Trophy Grade 6.5 Creedmoor Ammo 129 Grain Nosler AccuBond Long Range. Pick up some speed plus low expansion threshold of 1300 fps and .561 G1 should all help in a short barrel. For paper or steel anything in the 120-140 class from Berger or Hornady should do fine with the 139 Lapua Scenar being a standout (if you can find it loaded). |

A couple hundred more fps isnt going to make the difference between a dead bull and a lost animal in real life. To the op, I’ve had great luck with the new 130gr SMK but I don’t know if there’s a factory load for it. The Berger 130 AR Hybrid is another winner. I like the mid weight bullets with the shorter barrels. |
