I have a very good fitting pin spanner wrench that I tapped all the way in then used a small deadblow hammer to get it moving. It tried turning the buffer tube before it finally broke free and the roll pin in the QD goobered a small section of the threads of the tube. |

This happened to me as well- roll pin ruined the threads and I had to replace the tube. Luckily it was when you could get parts easily! |

Yeah, luckily it was less than 1/4" into the thread and I could pick out the little burrs that it made. |

Must be one of those "B grade" weapons. You should probably sell that to me for pennies on the dollar and get yourself something A grade.

| That is georgeous, I'm debating between that 4-16 ATACR and the 1-8 for my EMC |

| Maybe it's been asked in the past, but does anyone know why the SR-25 doesn't incorporate the same E3 bolt design as its little siblings? It seem to be scalable, unless their reasoning is based on parts interchangeability for legacy systems still deployed by the military. |

I seem to remember someone saying it just wasn't necessary on the 308 platform. Larger bolt, and thus larger lugs, to distribute the load. |

I've not had any issues with it after putting a couple hundred rounds through her with the Scalarworks mount. Nothing's come loose and the locking wheels haven't shifted (they're witness marked). That said, I also have a Surefire H9 buffer in it, so maybe that takes a bit of the edge off. Have you read or heard anything about the Scalarworks mounts not taking recoil well? |

Have you read or heard anything about the Scalarworks mounts not taking recoil well? Some youtube channels like Sage Dynamics have some slow mo footage showing the mount shifting under recoil. Yes, I know all mounts do this to some extent, but what was shown for the Scalarworks mounts seemed excessive and not something I'd want on a heavy recoiling weapon. Edit: For example, you can see at 2:34 in the mount shifting more than the other attached accessories. |

I know on the three SW Aimpoint mounts I have, no matter how hard I tighten the wheel, I can slightly shift the mount forward and backwards, when I put enough force on it. They all hold an acceptable zero for a red dot, but I'm not sure if I'd want it on a sub-moa gun that goes out to +1km. I'd be contacting Scalaworks if your mounts are not holding on all 3. |

Different uppers, LMT and Hodge. I tighten mine with soft jaw pliers so def not under torquing the mounts lol. |

Originally Posted By SecretSquirell: I think I'd still be calling SW. He ain't lying. I just applied force to a SW mount topped with a CompM5, mounted to an Haenel upper. It does in fact shift ever so slightly fore and aft when enough pressure is applied. There's also an audible click when the mount shifts. The shift isn't enough for me to give a damn, but it does happen. Huh... I tried the same thing with my SR25, and couldn't get it to shift at all. Two wheels must be stronger than one. |
