The EC was not chromed or dimpled to make the most accurate - and affordable barrel we could put in a Carbine. There is significant costs that go into both the dimpling and chroming that we felt a majority of commercial shooters would not like, thus we felt the EC barrel type would take advantage of those folks, and the ECC could remain for those who wanted the lighter weight and the chrome to reduce cleaning requirements - yet where willing to shade accuracy perhaps a tad. The two Carbines where a departure for us in that we consciencously went out to make models specifically tailored to the two sides of the commercial market –– those who wanted a "military type gun" (the ECC) and those who wanted a target carbine (the EC). |

My contribution to help keep this thread alive. I also wanted to give Ayan at boltcarier.com big props for his first 7.62 URX 3.1 install on my EMC a while back, it turned out awesome. Please don’t mind the scope it’s just a place holder until I source the proper replacement. But the URX 3.1 install was the first major step in this rifle’s natural progression towards eventual completion (MAMS, paint, optic, etc).

Jealous of everyone with their SR25 test targets.
My newly bought SR25 ECC didn't come with a test target, and acccording the commercial customer service rep, Tom at KAC. Knight's is no longer going to include test targets with commercial orders. Tom: "Due to the demand for SR-25’s and the expedited manufacturing for all of our rifles, the SR-25’s are no longer shipping with test targets. " Bummer, guess I will just have to make my own.
Edit: sorry for no pictures. I did get to take my ECC to the range on Monday but only put 25 rounds down range to sight in the iron sights. I will say, the ECC comes in 2 pounds lighter then the LRB arms M25 in a Sage EBR Mod 1 chasis that it replaced. The recoil was suprising very similair for being 2 pounds lighter. The only issue I had so far is Magpul 20LR (gen 2) magazines do not drop free. I have some Gen 3 20LR/SR magazines coming in next week and will report back with some pictures! |
