Took the SR-15 out to sight in the acog and noticed what appears to be surface rust under the rail on the gas system. The gun isn't exposed to adverse conditions and is kept in a dehumidified safe. Does this rust (if that's what it is) indicate an issue with the gas system? Does it need to be addressed?Attached File Attached File |

| Mothership contacted. One KAC contact advised me to rub some oil on it to keep it from spreading but said it was not from any gas system leak. There was a caveat that said, "we can take care of it for you". So I asked, if it only requires some oil and there is no leak, what would KAC do to "take care of it for me". No need to send it in if a dab of oil is the solution. KAC followed up with "if you send it in, we could replace the affected parts". So that sounds like a little bigger deal than put a drop of oil on it. So I guess off to KAC she goes. |

| This is a $3k rifle. OP did not pay a discounted price for a blem. KAC is happy to fix it. Id let them. Just my .02. KAC warranty work is very quick and responsive in my experience. They stand behind the product, and thats part of what you pay for when you buy KAC. Competent support logistics. |
