| I have a SCAR 17S on order and am trying to decide what height mount to go with on an Aimpoint. I shoot passive with night vision and find the 1.93" mounts about perfect on an AR, do optics feel like they sit about the same on a SCAR compared to an AR or feel higher/lower based off similar cheek/chin weld? For example does a lower 1/3 optic on a SCAR feel more like a 1.93" on an AR or are they comparable? |

I’d say same/ a little higher. I just picked up a 1.93” Aimpoint mount to mess around with, I haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet. On my 20S I started with 1.35” rings and those felt too low. Im back to 1.54” and that feels right. I know it’s a totally different stock but it’s another point of reference. |

They do sit a little higher. I have a razor 1-6x in a 1.93 badger mount sitting on my scar 17, and while it works fine, it looks a little goofy. If definitely doesn’t need to be that high, and since it’s just mocked up, I’m actively searching for a 1.7 height mount. If you can stand to wait a week or so, I’ll be back home and can compare the 1.93 and lower 1/3rd heights via said Razor and my EXPS (and the razor if I get a 1.7 height mount by then), while using nods, and can give you a bette opinion. I’m a big proponent of 1.93 mounts on my ARs for NVD use. |

I THINK I have a Larue lower 1/3 kicking around somewhere so I might be able to try that height myself if I can find it. |

I used a tape measure so not completely exact, but I'd say it's about a 1/4" difference in height from the middle of the cheek riser in the lower position to the top of the receiver. If you raise the cheek riser it sits very, very slightly higher than the top of the receiver. |

2.26 is definitely comfy standing up but sucks prone. I think 1.93 is a nice height too, but lower 1/3 is manageable also. Pick the one that is the most comfortable for you and supports the shooting style you will be doing a majority of your shooting in. |

So I swapped my razor into a Reptilla 1.7 height mount, and it’s the absolute minimum I’d mount something on it. The 1.93 was very comfortable, but I can still easily get behind the optic at 1.7. It would work great with an RMR or something for passive aiming. |
