I have submitted over 20 Form 1s over last 5 yeas. This is first was that was not approved . It was for FN Scar 15P. I selected reciver makings from drop down menu on ATF’s site. It was “FN scar 15 multi caliber “ as it was engraved on the receiver which matched the drop-down menu. The Form 1 was disapproved as the model name should be FN Scar 15P. I was instructed to resubmit it as “FN SCAR 15P”. The FN SCAR 15P multi caliber was no longer available as pick. I guess ATF removed it as others likely made the same mistake. Now the question, if you had your F1 disapproved, how long did you have to wait? Full 2 months? Thanks |
| The drop down has things that people submit. It doesn’t mean they got approved. “Multi caliber” is almost never part of the model name. It’s the caliber marking for the receiver, but when you do a Form 1, you have to choose a specific caliber. Does your receiver actually say FN SCAR 15P, or does it say FN SCAR 15 (without the P)? You need to put the model exactly as marked on the receiver, especially if you attach a photo. If it doesn’t say 15P on there, then don’t put 15P. |

The .gov isn't exactly a bastion of efficiency. The ATF didn’t put it in the drop down. Someone typed it in when filling out the eForm. That’s how the dropdown menu gets populated. |

I got two bounced, because "Charger" wasn't listed as "22 Charger"

I've seen people who have been rejected for including a manufacturer prefix in front of the model name (e.g., specifying "MKE AP5", as engraved on the upper), others disapproved for not including it (e.g., specifying "MPX" instead of "Sig MPX"), and others who were approved, but with a condition, adjusting the model name to whatever that evaluator thought was more appropriate. And holy hell, given that conditional approval is an option, why don't they always do that? I mean seriously, if you are going to deny the application with guidance to resubmit specifying the model name as "x" instead, why the fuck don't you just conditionally approve the application that way? Any evaluator who doesn't must eat snickers bars upside down so they can enjoy the veiny texture on their tongues. Right now I'm on Day 73, waiting on a Form 1 for a Trust. The same trust with the same RP they have seen numerous times before, including when they approved two Form 1s on it one week before this one was submitted. But by all means, let's not optimize any part of the process. Fuckers. |

The problem is that the eForms system uses other people's inputs as a source for what's shown in the dropdown menu. It'd be one thing if only selections which had been used in at least one approved form were in the dropdown, but apparently as soon as someone submits a form with a new model, then that gets added to the dropdown. |
