Been out a little while now. How they holding up? Reliable? Any preference with mags? Or ammo types? +p or +p+ issues? Newer Takedown model not the older model. |

My Ruger PCCs have been great. Reliable and very accurate. It's been fun making loads for mine and seeing what they can do at various distances. The platform has been getting some great mods available as well. Fun and affordable to shoot. Suppressing them is also enjoyable. |
| Mine doesn't like Magpul or ETS Glock mags, and chokes on Winchester Ammo. |

| Using only magpul mags - 10 rounders as I live in the Peoples Republic of NY - FUAC. So far I have about 800 rounds of Remington UMC 115 gr FMJ with about 3 or 4 stovepipes. 200 rounds of sig 124 gr FMJ no malfunctions at all. 150 rounds of 124gr +p gold dots with no malfunctions at all. So far I have not completely stripped it for a thorough cleaning - that might be this weekends project. It just runs and is a lot of fun. Zeroed at 25 yds with a Sig Romeo red dot. |

I'm using mine for USPSA PCC with an MCarbo extractor, MCarbo extended mag release, and Midwest Industries rail. I am using a Holosun green circle-dot on it. It has been great for a few thousand rounds other than trying ETS extended magazines. Those sucked with it. I'm using Glock OEM 33 and 17 rounders. |

07/02 manufacturer and dealer. I believe we should all be heavily armed, let me help you get there!

Love my PC carbine. Been reliable with all types of factory ammo. Only failures I had (4) had been with reloads. Did alot to mine Mcarbo complete kit ,MI Rail and Holosun 510 green circle dot. Mine feeds reliably with Glock and Magpul magazines. I keep 4 Magpul 27 round mags with the rifle at all times. It is girlfriends go to rifle over Ar or AK. It travels nicely in Ruger takedown case. |

I have one. It's just a fun gun to shoot. My 11 year old loves to shoot it and my 9 and 5 year old will transition to it after .22. It's a bit on the heavy side, but cheap and fun. Only problem I had was around 600-800 rounds I started getting failure to eject. Finally figured out that the ruger extractor is made of soft metal and had gotten rounded off. I bought the MCarbo extractor kit. That fixed all the problems and she eats whatever she is fed including the cheap stuff and HD rounds. I have about 1500-2k through it now, all with glock, KCI and magpul glock pattern mags. The magpul mags get jammed up with steel case stuff but that's not gun related. |

I would not hesitate to buy a Ruger PCC. I used to own one and regret selling it to fund an AR15 project. From what I see, they just keep going up in price compared to the $450 I paid for an original model. As previously stated, for the most part these rifles are excellent out of the box. They can be finicky with mags and or ammo, but eventually the kinks can be worked out. I also would not hesitate updating some of the internals with MCarbo tool steel parts, especially the extractor. Before finding MCarbo, I had sent my rifle back to Ruger once for FTE issues and all they did was switch out the crappy extractor for another one. After the MCarbo upgrades, I never experienced another FTE, FTF, or stovepipe again. When I retire to a free state, The PCC Charger will be on my short list of purchases to make. If Ruger really wanted to make money, they’d sell the individual components of the PCC so people could build their own like the 10/22’s. |
OP, what is your intended use? Iirc, you're a practical minded, 'get shit done' guy trying to deal with your state's horrible laws, and I commiserate with you. 👍 If you're stuck with 10 rounds regardless of the platform I think I'd prefer 10 rounds of 5.56 out of a Ruger American Ranch (perhaps x39 or .300, you could suppress either if you wanted to) or 8-10 rounds of .357 out of whatever length lever rifle. Both are noticeably more powerful than 1400 fps 9mm (?) out of a carbine. Granted, none of those break down unless you cut the stock down and add a hinge. ![]() That said, another member had a Winchester 94 with a side folding stock for easier packing. I think I'd rather have a Rossi 92 with the stock removed over a 10 shot 9mm carbine for traveling purposes. |

The takedown feature saves alot space in the car. But I have a 357 92rifle and a takedown 12ga and 22lr. It's more of a want vs need now. I could use it for local steel plate matches which would be really fun. So I dunno. I shoot less and less these days. No time. Eta. On the 92, the stock is a single screw. With the buttstock removed it's only slightly longer than my 20in 12ga taken downAttached File |

My original model ran great for the first 800 rounds, then increasingly started choking on everything after that. It finally went back to Ruger, where they replaced the bolt head, ejector, extractor, and a few other parts. It’s been fine since then, with probably 1000 rounds on it. They did note you could bend the ejector and cause issues if you slammed a mag in too hard. Seems like a design deficiency, if that’s the case. |

| I have one and love it. It was one of my first purchases after fleeing CT and their commie gun laws. It has been flawless and works suppressed perfectly too. I went for it over a CZ because of compatibility with Glock mags. I have no regrets as I shot a freinds CZ and found the trigger to be awful out of the box. |

I own a lot of blowback 9mm ‘mag forward’ pistols and carbines. I’m really kinda surprised how easy the recoil is. I’ve got other pistols as heavy, they’re not as smooth as my Charger. So far no issues with mine and the only repeat complaints are with the extractor, and Ruger seems to always make good on it. And aftermarket. I went with the 20 round FDE Glock mags. I run quite a few PCCs that take Glock mags and learned pretty quickly a factory Glock mag is still best quality. Rarely had any issues with 3rd party mags in Glock pistols, but that’s not been my experience in other Glock mag platforms. My LGS was pretty smart, offered to swap in the Glock magwell while I was waiting, then realized I needed at least one Glock mag (I have .40 & .357 Glocks, no 9s) so bought one for first range trip. If Ruger just had a better mag selection I’d have just as easily stuck with Ruger mags. |

The wear of magazines is not a myth. However, magazines also wear otherwise, e.g. at the top where the ammunition feeds. In most places, it makes no sense to fret over magazines for current-production guns. However, I reckon the CROM latch makes sense where legislation inflates the value of magazines. Note that in order to do its duty, the plastic magazine catch must be sacrificial. So, now it has a finite lifetime. When you buy it, don't be too surprised at how soft its plastic is. |

Love mine. I run the Ruger SR9 mag. Bought a bunch for $16 a year back. I swapped for a McCarbo extractor. Been flawless. Attached File |
