Pretty cool little package for a PCC. I’ve got mine on my AP5, where it shines. Looks like some of their other models are coming with Crane plugs; this one has a proprietary tape switch that screws into place. All in all I like it quite a bit and it works well for its intended role. They are going on sale for Prime Day if anyone is looking to pick one up. |

I picked up a GL5 (not the pro) during the prime day sale and after having it in hand its an impressive little unit. Metal housing, feels solid. I dont use NV so cant comment on the IR stuff, but the vis light and laser is very nice and it's super compact. I also have an HFXC for vis use only and it's just so much larger in comparison for much of the same vis features. I assume the HFXC is nicer for the IR options with adjustable power and beam. |

Yeah, the GL5 Pro obviously isn’t a hugely versatile NV device (pretty much just PCCs/Pistols, maybe a short PDW) as mentioned, but it is well made. |
| I'm trying to decide between the GL5 Pro and the GL4 Pro+. It will be going on a PCC, probably my Stribog. Besides form factor, any significant pros/cons between the two. I know that sometimes the latest model isn't necessarily an improvement. |

Really like the weight and compact size of the Rovyvon units - allowing me to keep them forward-mounted on the rail without unbalancing the rifle too much. For a while I was trying to do the rediculous hydra-riser type stuff thats popular now to move the large LAMs to the middle by the barrel nut due to weight, and I'm happy with not having to fiddle with that anymore using these units. |

Rovyvon GL5 + Rovyvon Switch Surefire KM1-E + Unity Hotbutton I wish I could get someone to 3D print a Unity-Exo-esque cover for the Rovyvon's onboard rocker switches because they are so delicate it's ND city anytime they get bumped.

Something with little detents that "snap" over the rounded outside edges of the switches and holds itself in place and blocks them from moving is what I'm thinking. That would be good if you wanted to disable them altogether - but I think there’s a use case for just a shroud as well to keep the switches as a backup if the remote fails and just protects them from being bumped or hit. Drew it up and went through 3 prototype prints until I liked it enough to say it can be tested/used.  It's has detents inside that just snap over the round stitches and hold it in place, prevents rotating or pushing them on my unit quite well. Left a relief on the top edge to clear the remote connector bit. If you needed to access the switches in a pinch, it can be popped right off so long as there's room behind it for clearance. You can download it HERE if you want to print one to try.    |

@D_Man was gracious enough to print some of these out since I dont have a 3D printer and they are exactly what I was thinking about in the OP when I thought about the idea. He added in additional features over a few prototypes as well like the windows and recess for the remote switch. These caps really turn these little units into something much more durable. I used a dual-window cap on my short SBR where I use the toggles and no remote. I added a bungee here as well to add additional tension even though they stay on very tight. A single-window version to provide redundancy in case of a remote switch failure on the longer SBR that uses the remote. Pics:

On a side note, I had no idea these used the same switches as the Surefire XVL series, so the Surefire RSR-07 tape switches will apparently work with all Rovyvon models. I thought only the Rovyvon-made remote switch worked until someone said that in a review video. Now I'm wondering if theres a better way to do a combo switch if you have a rovyvon unit + a surefire light. I dont think anyone makes an ST07 housing that includes something additional, or any kind of RSR-ST07 or modbutton/etc combo. We might need @D_Man and his 3D printing expertise again

Also the Gl5 Pro has no protruding lense cap so aftermarket diffuser caps are a no go. If anyone didnt find the same Gl4pro+ deal I did - this Gl5 pro deal seems to be a steal. |

Well, I'm currently on hold with Amazon support. The first order arrived today and the Rovyvon box was empty.  Waiting to see what Amazon says.Edit: Apparently I clicked the wrong thing on my phone, so I have to contact them again in 2 weeks for a refund.

My Gl4+ was supposed to ship 1-day from Tuesday but it just shipped today (thurs) and it says it wont be delivered until Monday. So much for 'prime' shipping from these Rovyvon vendors. |
